Responsible for leading and executing credit policy control testing engagements across a defined portfolio, including formulating solutions to minimize the impact of identified issues. Responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on testing of applicable Credit Division policy controls which are designed to manage and mitigate credit risk. Communicates issues and control improvements to the Credit Policy Controls Team and Bank Management.
Design, execute, and review detailed credit policy control test plans according to formalized timelines.
Develop, review, and report results.
Maintain a repository of documented test plans.
Encourage integrated testing concepts; the use of technology, and make suggestions on testing approach changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of testing procedures.
Identify corrective action, formulate solutions to minimize impact of identified issues, communicate to appropriate business units, and follow-up to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Gain and develop a detailed understanding of processes or associated technology to identify control gaps or to make recommendations that address the identified gaps.
Work with Management to obtain responses that address the identified issues.
Develop training materials for business unit employees; conduct training sessions for all levels of business unit staff.
Design and/or modify control procedures, documenting procedures and disseminating to affected parties.
Research applicable policies, controls and processes within the business.
Plan, execute, and document testing engagements in a risk-focused manner while maintaining independence and department and professional standards.
Evaluate, test, and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment.
Analyze risks and proactively identify the root-cause of issues with a view to providing recommendations for improvement where weaknesses are identified.
Finalize test findings and use judgment to provide an overall opinion on the severity of the risk.
Manage multiple tasks concurrently in an efficient and effective manner with minimal oversight.
Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders and other testing team members.
Supervise junior team members as needed.
Perform other related assignments as requested by management.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
The position requires substantial interaction with internal contacts in order to obtain pertinent information.
The position acts as liaison between department and other business units on various projects.
The incumbent works independently under limited supervision.
The candidate may serve as resource for junior employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ related experience or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience including a minimum of 7 years’ related experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical ability and creative problem solving skills.
Ability to function as a project leader.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
Ability to work independently and function as a member of a project team.
Excellent knowledge of Windows and PC software programs.
Minimum of 3 years banking industry experience.
Minimum 3 years prior departmental experience.
Highly skilled proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, database, graphing, presentation, and department specific software, with a working knowledge of financial models.
