Account Executive - M&T Insurance Agency
Location: Buffalo, NY


Responsible for direct selling of property and casualty insurance products to business customers.
Build and maintain internal bank and external referral sources for the development of new business.
Keep informed of new products and trends in the insurance market.
Preparation of insurance applications.
Obtain and analyze loss experience and underwriting information required for applications.
Work closely with our marketing department to prepare proposals for sales opportunities.
Produce new customer accounts to achieve growth goals and maintain high customer retention levels through the delivery of quality agent service.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of 3 years sales experience.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in team environments.
Hold or obtain appropriate State Property & Casualty Brokers License within 6 months of hire.
Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Economics
Proven success in problem analysis and resolution, and consultative selling techniques
Insurance carrier underwriting or insurance sales experience
Advanced insurance certification (AAI, CIC, CRM) preferred.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position approximately 25% of the time
Extensive automotive travel required
No lifting requirements
