Basic Function:

Participate on a team that supports all accounting related projects and analysis with respect to the Banking Services Division.

Essential Position Responsibilities:

Candidate will be responsible for supporting the monthly analysis of real estate secured loans for potential partial charge-off and any related entries and reporting. 
This would include providing financial reporting to the Corporate Reporting department for the Call reports and earnings statement.
In addition the candidate will be actively involved in supporting, from an accounting standpoint, conversions and upgrades for many of the lending systems including interfaces and automated balancing functions.
Systems include AFS, LPS, SHAW, CLCS, WMS, Empower and IDS.
Products supported include Consumer Lending, Commercial and Business Banking Lending including Leasing, Auto Floor Plan and Residential Mortgage Lending.
Provide support for the monthly closing of the general ledger, analyzing and interpreting account fluctuations and monthly/
quarterly reporting.
Improve existing processes and implement new processes related to the accounting for the various lending products that
enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
Perform other related duties and projects as requested.
The incumbent works under limited supervision and the position requires interaction with all levels of personnel throughout
the organization including senior management, internal and external auditors and regulatory agencies.

Develop monthly variance analysis, reconciliations, tests of accounting data integrity, and work paper review.
Review the bank's accounting transaction documentation for completeness and accuracy and research account variances.
Identify and work to resolve accounting issues or variances.
Provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff.
Work with Corporate Compliance and Legal in regard to customer issues.
Responsible for departmental assignments and projects as requested by management.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business related field, or in lieu of degree four to five years’ relevant accounting, auditing or bank experience.
Minimum five years’ relevant work experience.
Financial institution experience preferred.
Excellent PC skills with a thorough knowledge Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word and Access.
Thorough knowledge of departmental software.
Thorough knowledge and application of GAAP principles.
Complex analytical and problem solving skills.
Decisiveness with a strong work ethic.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to set examples for others.

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

Ideal Qualifications:
MBA preferred.
CPA preferred.
