Job Description

The Opportunity:

The Associate would have various responsibilities to be performed in the Banking Services NYC Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Group. 



•  Responsible for the timely and accurate Quality Control review closing documents for  New Permanent Loans, Construction Loans, Syndication Transactions, Modification, Extensions, and Renewals to ensure that loan transactions are closed in accordance with loan approval, related documents and bank policies. 

•  Responsible for the review and extraction of critical data from loan documents and ensuring accurate processing of new construction, syndication transactions, and refinance loans, swaps, assumptions and modifications, loan renewals, all critical maintenance, etc. for preparing input sheet for the boarding related transactions onto the loan system, databases and reports.  Ensure all new loans, modifications, assumptions boarding are verified and validated the next day.

•  Responsible for preparing Wire template for all Participation and Syndication loans. 

•  Responsible for Participation Sold Rate and Payment Notification.

•  Responsible for Processing of payment Advances for all Participation Sold and Bought Loans including Construction advances.

•  Ensure that proper hazard insurance as well as accurate real estate taxes are collected for all closed loans and communicating with Tax Service Agency to request new contracts. 

•  Verify the accuracy of Adjustable Rate Interest rate and Payment calculations. 

•  Ensures the accuracy of all related fees and general ledger entries are received and processed for all related activities. 

•  Ensures all related credit and legal files are prepared and properly filed. 

•  Ensures that all related new loan activity reports are prepared timely and accurately. 

•  Ensures the accuracy of billing for modification and other related activities.

•  Ensures the timely receipt of missing loan and recorded and filed documents.

•  Ensure the safeguard of Coop Stock Certificates and other important documents.

•  Ensures the timely review and processing Tickler items. 

•  Reconciliation and distribution of the Bank checks.

•  Perform other duties as required by the Department Manager.


Basic Qualifications:

•  High School Graduate or GED

•  Minimum 2 years relevant work experience

•  General Office and good PC skills

•  Good Verbal and Written Communication skills


Ideal Qualifications Preferred:

•  Associate's degree preferred

•  Three to five years office experience

•  One year of related real estate mortgage servicing experience.

•  MS Word and Excel proficiency

•  Notary public (as required by department needs)
