Job Description


The Indirect Post Closing team is responsible for ensuring that dealer originated documents for Auto, Boat, and RV Installment Loans have been executed appropriately and that all credit policy and regulatory requirements have been met.  This team completes loan set-up and funding process for these loans and alerts business partners to any outstanding issues. The Indirect Post Closing Associate III is primarily responsible for reviewing loan account opening documentation for accuracy, communicating documentation errors and exceptions to dealerships though bank systems and over the phone,  and completing all new-loan set-up activities for all loan types, including Auto, Boat, and RV.


Position Responsibilities:

•  Review account opening documentation for accuracy and completeness for Auto, Boat, and RV loans

•  Book loans to bank systems

•  Fund loans to external dealerships

•  Identify, track, and resolve errors identified in account opening paperwork; escalate as appropriate

•  Provide dealer and internal business partners phone support regarding vehicle loan funding

•  Ensure personal booking batches balance at the end of each day and reconcile any discrepancies in order to ensure accurate internal accounting

•  Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

•  Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

•  Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

•  Complete other related duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:

•  High School or GED required 

•  Minimum two years relevant work experience

•  Good PC skills with knowledge of MS Office products

•  Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

•  Good organizational and customer service skills

•  Flexibility to support multiple business lines

•  Must be reliable

•  Moderate problem solving skills

•  Math skills necessary

•  Sets examples for others with a strong work ethic

•  Supports cross training activities and the ability to work in a team environment


Ideal Qualifications:

•  Associate’s Degree preferred

•  Three to five years office experience preferred

•  Knowledge of departmental software

•  Familiar with business terms

•  Notary public preferred
