Job Description

Function:
Notifies customers and coordinates customer exit processes that are governed by the BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) program requirements. Prepares and sends letters to customers and works with various Bank departments to ensure account restraints and closures are properly executed at the appropriate times.

Responsibilities:
Navigate various banking systems to understand customers' account relationships. Submit data files to vendor to facilitate letters which advise customers of the Bank’s exit decision. Review peer files to confirm data entry accuracy.
Coordinate with internal business partners to ensure accounts are restrained or closed within stringent time frames to ensure SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are met.
Respond to exit escalations/extension requests and ensure accounts are properly maintained per line of business requests.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.

Nature & Scope:
This position completes exit processing activities supporting KYC activities.

Required Qualifications:
Associates degree, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 2 years’ higher education and/or work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience
