Job Description

Function:
Investigates and researches customer disputed transactions, processes basic tasks in multiple systems and determines resolution of the dispute.

Responsibilities:
Complete routine data entry and complete tasks related to the primary investigation of a card dispute.
Respond to or initiate standard requests within the appropriate regulatory timeframes.
Complete mid-complexity level research which include customer and transactional research to make factual case decisions on basic disputes.
Complete routine or standardized exception processing to correct system errors.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards.
Complete other related duties as assigned.

Nature & Scope:
The jobholder may work with customer disputed transactions on Debit Cards, ATM, and Credit Cards.

Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 2 years’ higher education and/or work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
General understanding of Dispute Processing
Familiarity with Regulation E and/or Regulation Z
Previous experience with pertinent departmental software
Proven verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
