Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:
Responsible for marketing activities for the Business Banking division. Oversee the conceptualization, development, execution and evaluation of marketing and communication programs designed to meet business objectives to attract potential customers and retain existing ones.  Individual will be an integral part of the development and execution of marketing plans to reach target audience rom production promotion to brand awareness.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify business unit marketing and/or communication campaign needs based upon business objectives.
Conduct market research to find answers about business owner requirements, habits and trends.
Brainstorm and develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns.
Assist in outbound or inbound marketing activities by demonstrating expertise in various areas (content development, event planning etc.)
Collaborate with M&T Marketing and Communication Division and other professionals to coordinate brand awareness and marketing efforts.
Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels (social media, email, etc.)
Assist in analyzing marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates) to help shape future marketing strategies.
Undertake individual tasks of a marketing plan as assigned.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.



NATURE AND SCOPE:

The position is responsible for providing the business line with effective marketing and communication programs to enable businesses to meet objectives.
The position requires substantial interaction with both internal and external contacts in order to obtain pertinent information.
The position acts as liaison between department and other business units on various projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ related experience or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience including a minimum of 7 years’ related experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical ability and creative problem solving skills.
Ability to function as a project leader.


IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Bachelor's degree preferred
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
Ability to work independently and function as a member of a project team.
Detail oriented.
Excellent knowledge of Windows and PC software programs.
Minimum of 3 years banking industry experience.
Minimum 3 years prior departmental experience.
Highly skilled proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, database, graphing, presentation, and department specific software, with a working knowledge of financial models.
