THE OPPORTUNITY:
The CCAR Analyst Trainee participates in 24 months of Core Training and On-the-Job Training (OJT) focused on the bi-annual stress tests (i.e., Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) and mid-cycle Dodd-Frank Act Stress Test (DFAST)). Core Training responsibilities include participation in classroom training, observations of departmental presentations, interaction with senior management, and peer networking. OJT will include familiarization with the development of scenarios and capital forecasts as well as the preparation of presentations and regulatory forms. The CCAR Analyst Trainee may be responsible for additional projects as assigned by the department manager.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete a two-year long, non-rotational training program in assigned department.
Incumbents will be provided with job specific training, general training in banking, communication and leadership, and personalized coaching and feedback. Performance measures may include several objective test scores, peer and sponsor feedback from group projects, facilitator feedback, Department Manager feedback, final assessment score, and year-end performance appraisal from Department Manager.
Incumbents will be given an overview of the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) department. All incumbents will be familiarized with the CCAR submission. The incumbents will also meet with each CCAR Manager and participate in OJT with CCAR Analysts.
All incumbents will be provided with training throughout the two-year assignment to learn banking, modeling/financial skills, technical skills, and leadership/interpersonal skills. The incumbents will develop a solid understanding of banking functions and stress-testing processes and operations.
Job specific training is intended to teach departmental policies, procedures, systems, and products. Upon completion of the training program, all incumbents will have attained the basic skills necessary to become entry-level professionals in the CCAR department.
Incumbents will be responsible for performing tasks in a manner that are compliant with applicable laws and regulations and / or that serve to help the company be in compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the business line the position supports.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Complete other related duties as assigned.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
The CCAR Analyst Trainee will learn about tactical processes involved in data aggregation and reporting required for developing scenarios, producing capital forecasts, and preparing presentations, memorandums, and regulatory forms for the bi-annual stress tests (i.e., Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) and mid-cycle Dodd-Frank Act Stress Test (DFAST)).
The CCAR Analyst Trainee works with associate or senior analysts. This position has occasional contact with the internal departments within the Bank, including middle, senior and executive level management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in quantitative/analytical discipline (e.g., Finance, Accounting or Economics)
Outstanding academic credentials (GPA of 3.2 or better)
0-1 year of work experience
Authorized to work in the U.S. on a full time permanent basis without additional sponsorship
Experience with spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software
Demonstrated advanced computer and analytical skills
