CLO ANALYST LEAD

GLOBAL CAPITAL MARKETS

WILMINGTON TRUST

NEW YORK, NY

 

FUNCTION:

Provides Transaction Analytics and Reporting  support, to business and product line(s) assigned to the Division.  Independently develop and construct sophisticated cash flow waterfall models, collateral models and internal and external reporting for CDO’s by reviewing, interpreting and ensuring compliance with asset securitization indenture’s and associated legal documentation. Works closely with Division Manager, Technology Development Leaders and Client Development Sales Managers to advance short- term and long-term strategies and tactics, centered upon achieving a cost effective, efficient operation to achieve sustainable earnings growth and compliance with the Corporate Strategic Plan.  Drive product improvement through new ideas including system enhancements and features.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Create complex financial models using advanced programing languages (both proprietary and open source) that can carry-out CLO Compliance testing, waterfall bond payments and sophisticated Investor Report generation.

•  Knowledge of Structured Finance Securities, Fixed income securities, Syndicated and Middle Market Bank Loans including Documentation, Loan Accounting, Cash/ Payment Processing (ex. P&I, Fees Capitalized Interests, PIK…), Corporate Actions/Amendments/Restructures and Trading and Settlement.

•  Thorough understanding of Separately Managed Bank Loan accounts and  CLO/CDO operational life cycle including warehouse, CLO closing and effective date procedures, Monthly reporting, Quarterly waterfalls, and end of life events.

o  Ability to understand and interpret complex requirements outlined in CLO/CDO Indentures/agreements and other legal documents including ratings definitions, compliance tests definitions, waterfall priority of payment logic and reporting procedures.

o  Experience with CLO/CDO Indenture compliance tests and Client Investment Guidelines, hypothetical trade testing, reconciliations and maintenance of ratings, spreads, Amortization Schedules, maturity dates, industry, and other loan characteristics

o  Experience with reconciliations of monthly trustee reports and quarterly waterfall tie outs with AUP providers and Asset Mangers

o  Experience with cash reconciliations including fed wire payment instructions, SEI cash,

o  Experience with positions reconciliations and researching and resolving position breaks with Loan agents and Asset Managers

•  Work on project teams on production matters, enhancements, and ongoing improvements to system and processes including development related to the continued build out and enhancement of our platform’s capabilities and services.

•  Perform quality control and regression testing prior to system functionality upgrades and enhancements.

•  Implement QC process to perform quality control checks on required reporting and client ad-hoc requests

•  Develop of internal metric and external client reporting

•  Experience in writing procedures and documenting workflows (flowcharts) with sound understanding of, regulations, risk mitigation and control points.

•  Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies. Works with all staff and group members in the development and implementation of process improvements to increase service, processing, profitability and regulatory compliance.

•  Develops and maintains key client relationships within product and business lines.

•  Works closely with Client Development staff to host client meetings and develop sales strategies.

•  Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

•  Complete other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Analysis or another technical discipline, or in lieu of degree, a combined minimum of 9 years higher education and/or work experience to include a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. -OR- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Analysis or another technical discipline, with minimum of 3 years relevant experience or in lieu of degree, a combined minimum of 9 years higher education and/or work experience to include a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
Banking or Financial Services experience.
Experience with SAS, SAS Enterprise Miner and other Statistical Software Packages.
Advanced Knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Office.
Ability to utilize analytics in a collaborative manner across business functions and product lines to derive optimum solutions.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts.
Demonstrated ability to manipulate and analyze data across large databases.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Credit Analysis experience
