Job Description

Title: Commercial Planning Analyst
Responsible for supporting all aspects of Commercial Incentive Compensation including plan development, modeling/forecasting, payout calculations and risk management.  Create specialized analyses, presentations and written reports for divisional and department level managers.  Act as project leader on complex and highly visible projects.
Position Responsibilities:
• Administer incentive compensation plans for the Commercial Bank in accordance with the Bank’s sales practices and incentive policy as well as Risk Appetite Statement.
• Recommend and implement plan changes to drive desired sales behaviors and maximize SBU profitability.
• Work with SBU Managers and Commercial Leadership to establish annual sales goals.
• Provide divisional credit/loan forecasting as part of CCAR submission process.
• Research and gather business and financial information regarding business results. Perform complex analyses to support business decisions. Provide feedback to management regarding results. Make recommendations on findings to management.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the business and its functions, processes and operations.
• Keep abreast of business and market trends which may affect business department.
• Lead and support Commercial Banking initiatives as directed by senior managers.
• Act as project leader in the execution of various complex and highly visible projects for the promotion and maintenance of the business.
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
Nature and Scope:
• The position requires substantial interaction with both internal and external contacts in order to obtain pertinent information. 
• The position acts as liaison between department and other business units on various projects.
• The incumbent works independently under limited supervision as well as a member or a project leader of a project team.
• Serves as resource and mentor for junior employees.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ related experience or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience including a minimum of 7 years’ related experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical ability and creative problem solving skills.
• Ability to function as a project leader.
Ideal Qualifications Preferred:
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
• Ability to work independently and function as a member of a project team.
• Detail oriented.
• Excellent knowledge of Windows and PC software programs.
• Minimum of 3 years banking industry experience.
• Minimum 3 years prior departmental experience.
• Highly skilled proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, database, graphing, presentation, and department specific software, with a working knowledge of financial models.
