Job Description

POSITION: COMMERCIAL SALES ENABLEMENT ASSOCIATE

LOCATION: M&T CENTER, BUFFALO NY

 

FUNCTION:
M&T Bank’s Commercial Sales Enablement Team serves as a strategic partner to our sales organization, creating and delivering the information, tools, and content needed for effective customer and prospect engagement.  With a keen understanding of how Marketing and Communications can positively impact the selling process the individual in this position provides essential support to the Commercial Sales Enablement team, working across several projects/programs to produce standard content and communications.  He or she assists in effectively disseminating information across the Commercial Bank from all stakeholders, using standard Commercial distribution channels and platforms, including the Hub, Insider, SAVO, email (Outlook), and select Commercial Bank meetings/calls.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participate in the development and editing of product bulletins, memos, and other internal communications.
  • Contribute to new business development by assisting in administration and distribution of Sales Enablement content via SAVO and other platforms, coordinating with content owners to ensure that all content is properly maintained for accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain/update Commercial Bank intranet content (Insider).
  • Coordinate logistics for all calls and meetings, including scheduling speakers.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of detailed Commercial internal communication plans for priority projects, in partnership with Subject Matter Experts from within Commercial and across the Bank.
  • Assist department in driving adherence to communication standards in accordance with M&T Brand Guidelines and internal Commercial Bank guidelines.
  • Maintain and update Commercial internal communication templates, as well as templates for tools, resources and other supplementary materials related to communications.
  • Support collaboration with partners from Business Banking, Credit, Corporate Marketing/Communications and other divisions to align messaging and drive efficiency.
  • Maintain a general understanding of the Commercial sales organization, keeping abreast of business and market trends that may affect the business/department.
  • Secure and document approvals for all communications prior to publishing.
  • Review and make recommendations on external client-facing communications, marketing materials and sales collateral as requested.
  • Perform routine analysis and judgment based work, delivering information in a format that is easy to use utilizing workbooks and slide deck presentation methods.
  • Support continuous improvement of existing processes and/or development of new processes.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The position provides support for the Commercial Sales Enablement Team, assisting in the creation and distribution of content and information for the Commercial Bank.
 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • In lieu of above degree, a combined 4 years higher education and/or work experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and function as a member of a project team
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Ability to quickly identify key message(s) and convey clearly and concisely for target audience(s)
  • Knowledge of appropriate channels, tactics, best practices and evidence-based research regarding effective internal and external communication
  • Working knowledge of Windows and core MS Office applications
 
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
  • Ability to prioritize effectively based on the activities that will receive the greatest return
  • Sound creative judgment and analytical ability
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel
  • Detail oriented
  • Graphic design skills, including understanding of how to use imagery effectively to support communication goals
  • Proficiency with HTML and software programs utilized by department, including SAVO, SharePoint, Adobe Dreamweaver, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
