Title: Commercial Sales Enablement Manager II

Location: Buffalo, NY

 

FUNCTION:
Individual oversees all aspects of Sales Enablement Strategy, ensuring that members of M&T's Commercial Bank sales organization have the information, tools, and content they need to most effectively engage buyers throughout all stages of the buying process.  He or she manages the team(s) responsible for content and communication strategy and implementation for the Commercial Bank and serves as the primary Commercial Bank liaison with the Marketing & Communications Division, collaborating on the development and execution of highly visible programs designed to meet the business objectives of the Commercial Bank.
 
 
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Evaluate, evolve, and continually implement Commercial Bank Sales Enablement Strategy, driving adoption across organization.  Work with Commercial Bank partners to understand marketing, communication, and support needs based upon business objectives.
  • Demonstrate a thorough and expert understanding of the Commercial sales organization, including stages of the sales cycle, buyer personas, and the tools sales reps use on a daily basis. Keep abreast of business and market trends that may affect the business/department.
  • Establish and oversee Sales Enablement Content and SAVO Administration strategies, evaluating effectiveness against new business development and broader Sales Enablement and Commercial Bank priorities and initiatives.
  • Oversee coordinated communication process and messaging to Commercial Bank from all stakeholders, utilizing distribution channels including the Hub, Insider, Outlook, and Commercial Banking Exchange calls.
  • Set strategy for collaboration with internal partners on behalf of Commercial Sales teams; includes playbook development in support of Strategic Selling initiative, partnership with Business Intelligence team, and development of marketing plans for Commercial business lines in conjunction with Marketing & Communications Division.
  • Take a lead role in setting policy or developing and overseeing the implementation of procedures or controls related to compliance requirements within the overall business processes.
  • Perform highly complex analysis and judgment base review, research, and/or reconciliation. Interpret results and present findings to make or influence strategic decisions within the department or division.
  • Provide coaching, direction, and leadership to team members in order to achieve business results. 
  • Exercise managerial authority over staff with respect to hiring, termination, staffing, performance appraisals, and salary recommendations.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
 
 
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The position is responsible for providing the Commercial Bank with effective marketing, communication, and Sales Enablement programs to support the sales teams in new business development through effective interactions with buyers.
 
 
MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Manage individual contributors and/or managers.
 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 7 years of related business line experience
  • In lieu of above, a combined 11 years higher education and/or work experience
  • Strong team management and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact professionally across all levels of the organization.
  • A minimum of 2 years of leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Excellent project and time management skills.
 
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
  • Ability to prioritize effectively based on the activities that will receive the greatest return.
  • Sound creative judgment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation communication skills.
  • Three or more years of leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of applicable banking laws.
  • Ability to sift through large amounts of data/information and narrow down to the most important trends.
  • Copywriting and editing proficiency.
  • Excellent PC skills with proficiency in software programs utilized by department.
