Job Description

Responsible for establishing and managing homebuilder and manufacturer account relationships that will serve to create new residential construction and renovation mortgage business for M&T Bank. This position is also responsible for providing customer service, product/process training, reporting and follow up.

Promote new business with potential homebuilder and manufacturer customers through participation in trade shows and cold calling. Extensive travel to customer locations required to meet potential and existing clients.
Establish new relationships by evaluating potential customer fit against M&T requirements, products, and process. Maintain and monitor relationships once established.
Provide approved training seminars to homebuilders and manufacturers on M&T Bank’s construction and renovation programs in order to promote new products and review existing products.
Coordinate and facilitate any activities and the collection of background information required to complete the registration process for builders on an annual basis as required by M&T’s construction finance program. This may include providing initial instructions to comply and/or following up on missing information as needed.
Work with builders during the construction disbursement process to ensure builder satisfaction with the timeliness of disbursements and inspections performed by the construction disbursement group.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.

The incumbent is responsible for establishing, maintaining and monitoring relationships to create bank profit through residential construction and renovation mortgage production.
This position works under general supervision in conjunction with the marketing department to provide accurate training seminars.

Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 4 years’ higher education and/or sales experience, preferably business to business.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, organization, and time management skills.
Ability to travel to customer locations.

Mortgage sales experience.
