This position is part of the Bank’s Content Management Center of Excellence that sits within the Marketing & Communications division and is responsible for driving Bank-wide thought leadership content development, supporting priority multi-touch marketing campaigns across business lines, and setting the governance process and strategy for thought leadership development across the Bank.  The team supports all business lines with a strong emphasis on the Wealth and Institutional Businesses as well as M&T Bank’s Commercial and Business Banking areas.

Essential Position Responsibilities:

This position will support the Content Management team and individual business line marketing managers through creative thinking and operational elements related to content development and multi-touch, multi-channel campaigns.  Role may be responsible for aspects of project management, content execution, new content development, website management and internal communications.

Specific Responsibilities will include:

Management of Editorial Calendar Ecosystem: ongoing, pro-active management of content development editorial and execution calendars. This will include management of several calendars that track our thought leadership development pieces, campaign distribution, and channel placement (social, email, web, digital ads, etc.).

Website Content Management:  Ongoing management of the placement of thought leadership content (articles, videos, and infographics) across This role will be a key member of the website editorial team, working with web design and digital teams to continuously look for ways to improve and optimize the consumption of content on the website through managing the Homepage, About Us page and the content library, as well as setting the governance for how content is displayed. The position will also be responsible for running an annual audit of content to ensure the website is in compliance and developing reports for individual business lines on how the business’s thought leadership is performing on the site.

Content Project Management: This role will help manage new initiatives that look to improve content quality, processes, or frameworks. Role will be required to collaborate with business line marketers, graphic design and brand teams to develop and manage project plans, facilitate meetings and oversee internal communications plans.  Sample project includes the development of a new suite of sales collateral for several business lines.

Content Distribution & Test Agenda: the role will support the Content Management team on multi touch campaigns to ensure content is distributed across many audiences and channels. This will include posting new content to internal sites, managing the flow of projects through internal collaboration systems, working with marketing managers, compliance, social, digital and email teams to schedule and distribute content.  Distribution elements will also include the implementation of the team’s test and learn agenda around content development, execution, and consumption.

Content Insights & Learnings: the role will assist the head of content management to ensure the team is up to speed with changing industry dynamics and communicates content trends and best practices within the larger marketing and communications division. Insights and learnings may also include performing budget analysis and competitive research, and working on executive presentations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in managing marketing campaigns in a client of agency environment or in lieu of degree, a combined minimum of high education and/or work experience, including 5 years managing marketing campaigns in a client or agency environment.

Experience managing an advertising and/or direct marketing agency relationship.

Excellent PC skills with proficiency in software programs utilized by department.

Copy writing and editing proficiency. 

Preferred Qualifications:

2-5 years working in a marketing department or agency environment

Excellent project management and meeting facilitation. Role should have experience developing project plans, working with multiple players and running meetings.

Familiarity with marketing content development and email campaign planning. Editorial calendar management a huge plus.

Familiarity with digital marketing, including website copy development, digital ad planning, social media posting, and more

Strong interest in the role thought leadership content plays within a marketing strategy, as well as the role of content in moving leads through the sales process

Knowledge of agile principles and ways of thinking a big plus

Pro-active attitude, regularly take initiative to solve problems, document results and think of ways to continuously improve

Collaborative, team player who works with a sense of urgency to help greater team achieve results
