Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for the profitability and strategic direction of credit cards sold through the Retail channels. Ensures product/services are marketable, profitable and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a thorough understanding of the credit card business and its functions, processes, and operations.
Combine technical understanding with business knowledge to anticipate impacts of strategy and process change.
Understand product cost structure and integrate it into the annual plan and ongoing forecasts.
Build and maintain relationships with external vendors to optimize credit card products and customer servicing.
Ensure product complies with legal or regulatory requirements.
Manage all aspects of new product implementation and existing product modification to include but not limited to the design and development of services; act in a liaison capacity with affected departments.
Review new developments in credit card industry, evaluating and recommending new services or new products, or the modification of existing services or products.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The incumbent has extensive contact with other bank departments and external vendors for the effective and profitable management and enhancement of existing products.
MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
The position is not responsible for managing a staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ proven marketing, product management, financial,
operations and/or project management experience, or in lieu of a degree a combined minimum of
9 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years’ proven
marketing, product management, financial, operations and/or project management experience.
Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated financial analysis skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Proven leadership experience.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Project Management skills
Strong developmental and research ability
Financial analyst and/or product management experience preferred
Knowledge of software programs utilized by department.
