M&T Bank Enterprise Content Management Director Buffalo, NY  
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Enterprise Content Management Director position manages the activities of reference data, taxonomy and metadata.  In this role, they will also provide short and long term strategic direction for reference data and metadata in line with the goals of the Enterprise Data Office and the clients they support and help provide solutions to their clients. In this role you will need to understand technical tools available to assist with these initiatives, be able to wear many hats as you'll be managing many initiatives related to data and must be an expert communicator with executive presence because of the business facing responsibilities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consults with client management in the analysis of short and long range business requirements and recommends reference data, taxonomy and metadata innovations that anticipate the future impact of changing business requirements. Responsible for building a positive client relationship between your team and your clients.
Responsible for monitoring the technology direction of the enterprise data industry and vendor applications.
Researches and initiates change to the status quo, when necessary. Responsible for vendor/product analysis and recommendations.
Builds rapport within the organization. Develops a professional level of communication and cooperation. Maintains relationships with vendors and professional organizations.
Organizes and controls the activities of the teams, assigns personnel to various projects and directs their activities. Ensures completion of schedules. Responsible for short and long term FTE planning. Coordinates activities with other managers.
Monitors data project plans; may coordinate major project activities. Keeps abreast of activities outside the team that may impact the team or client environment. 
Responsible for performance appraisals, promotion and salary recommendations, and terminations.
Recommends and initiates new policies and procedures which will improve the performance and effectiveness of reference data and metadata.
Responsible for the job growth and career development of staff members by providing training plans, guidance and sharing knowledge.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis.

MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Will supervisor a staff of 5 individuals

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Minimum of an Associates’ degree and a minimum of 10 years’ systems development experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 12 years’ higher education and/or work experience
Minimum of 2 years’ managerial or leadership experience including previous work in a data related role
Previous experience with project management & program development,
Excellent problem solving skills to assist in issue resolution
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present to the target audience
Excellent analytical, organization, project, and time management skills; strong judgment and management skills; understands the agendas and perspectives of others
Must be able to assert ideas and gain support and commitment from others
Experience and skill in managing across functional and organizational lines
