M&T Bank Enterprise Data - Data Relationship Manager - Retail Banking Cheektowaga, NY  
Background / Opportunity M&T Bank established a function to centrally manage master data for the enterprise, which resides within the Enterprise Data Office (“EDO”) reporting to the Chief Data Officer. Master Data Management (“MDM”) is one of the primary functions of the EDO with a focus currently on mastering the data about parties (i.e. Customers).   M&T Bank is in the process of integrating mastered data into the various lines of business, such as retail banking, commercial banking, business banking, wealth management, but also corporate functions, such as risk management and compliance.   A dedicated Data Relationship Manager manages the onboarding and the ongoing relationship between the consuming unit(s) and the MDM function.   In order to support our continuous expansion, we are looking for a dynamic individual who has a mind for business and the technical prowess to provide the best possible experience for the Retail Banking business line in leveraging MDM as a service function.   The Data Relationship Manager reports directly to the Head of Master Data Management.

Responsibilities The Data Relationship Manager will be responsible for:  
Act as the single point of contact for all business-related topics around master data for Retail Bank. Coordinate, orchestrate and manage requests (new and/or enhanced requests, issues or change requests) from inception to resolution in collaboration with members of EDO, IT and Retail Banking. Facilitate the design and specification of solutions for master data for Retail Banking. Plan and manage the development and implementation of new master data management capabilities for Retail Banking. Guide and advice retail banking on the best use of the Master Data Management function. Represent the Master Data Management functions in key forums and committees for initiatives sponsored by or impacting Retail Banking. Lead and perform detailed analysis on data in collaboration with members of EDO and IT. Lead the requirements analysis for any new requests in collaboration with EDO, IT and Retail Banking. Extract and analyze data to glean insights that support further use of EPH, and retirement of other systems in the bank. Create demand among our business partners in Retail Banking to leverage master data management for new technology solutions and migrate existing operational systems across the bank to the Enterprise Party Hub (“EPH”). Work with business partners to understand their data needs and support the development of new  project requirement documentation, including authoring and consulting.  
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years relevant work experience or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years related experience. Strong understanding of data about parties (customers, prospects, vendors, etc.) including descriptive data, hierarchies, relationships, classifications, etc. Basic understanding of querying data via SQL, or a willingness to learn Basic understanding of data modeling concepts. Strong analytical ability and creative problem solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences that include peers, partners, and senior IT and Business managers. Excellent project management skills– able to lead and influence complex projects and make recommendations at all levels of the company; work in a team environment.
