Enterprise Data Governance - Business & Planning Manager III

Function 

The Enterprise Data Governance team is empowered to drive tangible business value through oversight of execution of the Bank's Enterprise Data Governance Program, ensuring the availability of reliable and accurate data for risk aggregation and reporting, analytics, and business management in support of the Bank's data management vision.

 

The Business and Planning Manager III manages the execution of the Enterprise Data Governance Program, working closely with line of business teams to motivate business data stewardship to improve the quality of critical data across the enterprise. Additionally, the role oversees compliance with the Enterprise Data Management Policy and Standards.

 

Position Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of the Enterprise Data Governance Program

Manage the operationalization of data domains in accordance with established enterprise data management principles and procedures

Perform reviews of assigned domains to monitor compliance with enterprise data management policies and standards

Lead the development of enterprise-wide key performance/key risk indicators (KPIs/KRIs) to ensure effective data risk management

Influence enterprise data quality through reporting of the effectiveness of domain data governance practices in support of business unit data health assessments

Provide strategic direction in the planning, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide data initiatives to ensure effective incorporation of Enterprise Data Governance practices

Facilitate data governance-related working groups, councils and committees for assigned domains

Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced Data Governance Officers

Lead special projects as assigned and perform additional duties and responsibilities as required

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years relevant work experience or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years related experience 

Strong interpersonal and communication/persuasion skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Proven ability to simplify technology and data concepts for business stakeholders to help drive adoption

Demonstrated ability to manage relationships through building commitment and empowering others

Results oriented with the demonstrated ability to apply strategic and decisive problem solving skills in ambiguous situations

Strong project management leadership

Experience coordinating cross-functional teams at various levels

Highly skilled proficiency in the use of spreadsheets, graphing, and presentations with a working knowledge of financial models
 

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree

Working understanding of industry best practices and technologies that effectively govern and manage data from various perspectives

Knowledge of bank products, systems and workflows

Knowledge of bank-wide policies and procedures, with specialized knowledge of responsible area

Knowledge of process improvement methodology and business process management techniques

Proficient in Microsoft Project, Visio, and PowerPoint
