Job Description

Basic Function
Provide data driven support to the Controller’s Department by acting as the data quality administer.  Contribute to the governing of the data used by the Financial Reporting data domain, acting as the liaison between the Controller’s Department (and Finance), various business lines and the Enterprise Data Office in an effort to improve data quality impacting financial reporting.

Position Responsibilities
Support the data needs of the Controller’s Department and work closely with data providers to raise awareness around data issues and participate in the resolution of such issues.

Coordinate with data owners, data stewards, data quality administrators and platform stewards to develop strategies for achieving a high level of data quality throughout the Financial Reporting data domain, including defining and monitoring data rules and controls. 

Perform testing on data elements to evaluate data quality dimensions and determine potential data issues, including root cause assessment. Provide feedback and recommendations for remediation of data quality issues to Controller’s Department management.
Develop strong partnerships with business line data stewards and data quality administrators to gain an understanding of data flow and data quality issues that may affect financial reporting.

Participate in the documentation of data lineage for data elements used by the Controller’s Department.

Work closely with the Enterprise Data Office to contribute to the continued development of the Enterprise Data Management Standards, Framework and Strategy.

Design and lead projects ranging in scope and visibility; participate in large scale projects, supporting data governance initiatives on behalf of the Controller’s Department.
Offer recommendations and solutions within the context of job responsibilities.
Perform other assignments as requested by management.

Nature and Scope
The incumbent works under limited supervision and exercises latitude over work assignments.
The position requires regular contact with both internal and external personnel and includes outside agencies/firms.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of three years’ experience required or in lieu of degree a combined seven years of relevant work experience. 
Ideal Qualifications
MBA or advanced degree preferred
High level of PC competencies (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Visio) and mainframe applications as necessary
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and prioritizes workflow as necessary
Excellent analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Deadline oriented and results driven
