THE OPPORTUNITY:
Provides high quality customer service to new and renewal accounts and provides support for the Benefit Consultants and Account Executives in servicing Group Benefits Clients’ accounts.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs customer service on accounts such as researching Client questions, performs account maintenance, answers client’s questions and resolves issues and answers day-to-day inquires on the account.
Assist in making proper market selections based on knowledge of the insurance marketplace, understanding of the client’s needs/wants, and evaluation of the current pricing, coverage and consultation with producer.
Inputs benefits plan information through department software/systems and performs maintenance to Client plans.
Prepares materials (i.e. benefit plan comparisons and open enrollment materials) for Client meetings based on marketing results.
Engages in peer review to feedback and ensure high quality and delivery of finalized materials.
Assists and support the negotiation process to ensure pricing and coverages satisfy the Client’s requirements and helps the producer maintain a high rate of account retention.
Support Clients by ensuring a smooth implementation of plan designs accurately and correctly.
Provides sales support to Benefits Consultants/ Account Executives to prepare materials or information to present to the Client. May participate in Client meetings as requested by the Benefits Consultant to provide product or account information.
Maintain a high level of communication with the Benefit Consultant, client and carriers to service current and new accounts.
Provide field support for specific cases in the renewal process and the Open Enrollment for significant prospects.
Keeps informed of the industry and develops knowledge of insurance products.
Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Other related duties as assigned.


NATURE AND SCOPE:
Provides high quality customer service to new and renewal accounts and provides support for the Benefit Consultants and Account Executives in servicing Group Benefits Clients’ accounts.
MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
None
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Associates degree and minimum of 3 years Insurance experience OR combination of 5 years of relevant experience and upper education.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Power Point, moderate level of expertise with Excel to design plan comparisons.
Strong communications skills to detail with internal and external customers.
Ability to share information and maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred
Ability to obtain State Brokers License
Working knowledge of Group Benefits insurance products and marketing.
Knowledge of medical insurance plans and ancillary lines such as dental, vision, flexible spend account (FSA), health care reimbursement accounts (HRAs), health care savings account (HSAs) and employer cafeteria plans
Experience with employer annual open enrollment meetings
Knowledge of Zywave, Brokerage Builder and Epic systems
