Institutional Client Services Relationship Manager lll

Buffalo, New York

 

 

Function:
Provide relationship management oversight of institutional client accounts with an established or new book of business. Working in a team environment, mentor the junior team members, the position provides account specific administration and client services to the business. Concentration on quality and accuracy of daily work minimizing risk and superior relationship management. Work with management team and client development to grow the business.
Responsibilities:
Approve activity based on client directives in a timely and accurate manner.
Respond to and/or annotate compliance reports for assigned accounts or for your team. Ensure proper action is taken to resolve outstanding matters.
Oversee the submission and approval of the team's assigned account reviews to insure completion in a timely manner.
Serve as primary/secondary contact for assigned/coverage team accounts. Resolve complex matters and inquiries. Provide oversight of the team to help resolve basic and complex matters as needed.
Maintain client communications on regulatory, legal, accounting and trust matters.
Complete client billing and resolve aged receivables timely. Oversee the teams billing and aged receivables are resolved timely.
Keep abreast of industry trends and understand regulatory items as it occurs or as communicated by management.
Provide customer service to retirement plan participants and pensioners, as required.
Adhere to division, client and alliance service standards.
Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
Partner with Client Development to look for cross-selling and growth opportunities.
Continue to look for automation and streamlining opportunities.
Understand the competition.
Fully utilize staff by leveraging strengths.
Responsible for the mentoring of others. Direct or monitor junior relationship managers in the client processing function.
Participate in Departmental projects and Corporate initiatives on a periodic basis.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience or equivalent training and work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years’ experience or equivalent training and work experience
Demonstrates a strong level of proficiency in the use of personal computers and software packages, such as Word Processing and Spreadsheet systems
Knowledge of balance sheets and income statements
Detail oriented and excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Organization and leadership skills
Problem resolution and strong decision making skills

Retirement or Trust administration experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business
