Job Description

Function:

Responsible for limited aspects of custody administration in servicing of high net-worth personal and institutional clients.  Generally serve as support to senior relationship managers and point of contact for clients regarding routine daily administration.  Maintains daily contact with trust clients to address general inquiries and/or facilitate client requests.  Process all related transactions, including collecting critical documents, processing cash disbursements, trades and account balances, establishing new accounts, fee approvals, audit requests and account reviews.   May serve as administrator for small to medium portfolios.  Ensures proper administrative management for accounts under responsibility, with supervision. 

 

Position Responsibilities:

Support the Relationship Manager with oversight of client relationships and serve as primary backup while out of office. 

Foster client relationships with help of Relationship Manager to enhance the client experience.

Proactively work with our internal and external service partners; assess issues requiring immediate attention in a timely manner and work to resolve other issues through the normal course of business utilizing available resources.

Provide and maintain appropriate levels of controls to minimize losses.

Provide effective support of team members as requested.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely responses to internal and external audit, risk and compliance

Participate in departmental projects and corporate initiatives

Keep abreast of industry trends and understand regulatory items

Have the ability to work on multiple tasks under limited supervision in a fast-paced environment

Understand and adhere to Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with internal procedures.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Assume additional responsibilities as requested

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 - Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and/or work experience. 

 - Minimum 1 year of professional work experience with direct client contact

 - Demonstrates a high level of proficiency in the use of computers and software applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel etc. and the ability to learn various new applications

 - Organization and leadership skills

 - Ability to calculate figured and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages

 - Demonstrated focus on customer service and satisfaction

 - Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

 - Self-Confident and proven ability to work well with highly capable and successful individuals

 

Ideal Qualifications Preferred:

 - A minimum of two years of client service experience in the Corporate Capital Markets industry

 - Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents

-         Self-Confident and proven ability to work well with highly capable and successful individuals

 - Ability to use independent judgment, discretion and maintain professionalism and confidentiality on investment matters.

-         Contribute to positive working relationships with administrative support units and internal operations team

 - Strategic thinking/problem solving skills

 - Strong analytical skills.

 - Demonstrates a sense of ownership in jobs or projects

-          Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build significant level of trust with clients and real interest in working with people.
