Basic Function: Provide paralegal support to litigation attorneys representing M&T Bank Corporation and its affiliates, including Wilmington Trust Corporation, M&T Bank and M&T Bank, N.A. and their subsidiaries. Responsibilities: Working under the general supervision of litigation attorneys: Coordinate and manage discovery, document collection and litigation holds in complex commercial litigation matters. Implement and manage litigation holds and coordinate the collection of electronically stored information (“ESI”).  Evaluate and manage e-discovery vendors. Draft pleadings and discovery responses.  Conduct legal, statistical and documentary research and draft legal documents, correspondence and charts/spreadsheets. Maintain general contact and act as a liaison with clients with respect to litigated matters and administrative functions. Investigate legal complaints and other legal matters referred to M&T’s Legal Department, research and analyze information related thereto, coordinate and monitor response or refer as appropriate. Perform other assignments to assist the litigation group and M&T Legal Department as may be requested. The position requires extensive interaction with internal and external Counsel, internal business unit personnel and external customers, vendors and governmental agencies. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent in work experience in a large commercial law firm or boutique litigation firm. Paralegal certification. Minimum of one year paralegal experience or closely allied skills and work experience, although the ideal candidate would have 7 years experience as a commercial litigation paralegal at large commercial law firm or litigation boutique.   Other Job Information: Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database applications. Computerized and traditional legal research skills. Ability to work under pressure and to function professionally with a wide range of clients on all levels (management and non-management). Excellent analytical ability, as well as research and accuracy skills. Excellent verbal, written, communication and organization skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently. Ability to balance a diverse set of duties, to set priorities and to meet deadlines. Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities to achieve expected quality results.
