Job Description

Receives incoming and posts outgoing mail and parcels from various sources into the appropriate office, department or building bins.
Makes deliveries within the assigned building; communicates openly with
Team Leader or Lead Clerk on pertinent issues.
Receive incoming US mail, overnight packages, deliveries, supplies, branch bags, which may weigh up to 70 pounds. Sort to appropriate office/department. Record as per established procedures in Mail Center (accountable mail, parcels, etc.).
Prepare outgoing routes/line hauls in advance of established departure time. Notify Lead Clerk if driver is late for pickup.
Make deliveries within assigned building(s) per established schedules.
Assist with tracking of items on a routine or special request basis.
Follow established procedures for the project as assigned by Lead Clerk.
Participate in cross-training of all duties within the Mail Center.
Advise Group Leader/Supervisor of department needs or areas for improvement.
Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Responsible for receiving, sorting, processing, delivering incoming and outgoing mail items as it relates to offices, departments, buildings, and regions.
The mail centers are responsible for the handling and accountability of incoming and outgoing first class, registered, certified, and interoffice mail as well as deliveries, supply shipments and overnight packages.
It is the responsibility of this position to ensure mail is sorted, delivered, and/or posted in a timely fashion according to established departmental procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Working knowledge of e-mail and word processing and spreadsheet software.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of postage equipment.
Ability to lift US mail, overnight packages, deliveries, supplies, branch bags, which may weigh up to 70 pounds on a regular basis.
