Job Description

Function:

Responsible for all marketing activities for the Consumer Lending segment. Oversee the conceptualization, development, execution and evaluation of highly visible and critical marketing and communication programs designed to meet business objectives of M&T Bank Corporation business unit managers, while reinforcing the bank’s brand identity.

 

Position Responsibilities:

Identify marketing and communication needs for Consumer Lending based upon business objectives.


•    Manage all aspects of the development and execution of each marketing and/or communication campaign project from conceptualization through execution and implementation.

     Establish marketing objectives and strategies, including digital marketing strategies for Consumer Deposits.


•    Understand new trends and developments in marketing and Consumer Lending products and services.


•    Manage staff with respect to hiring, termination, staffing, performance appraisals, and salary recommendations.


•    Develop and manage Consumer Lending marketing budgets.


•    Evaluate marketing effectiveness in meeting business objectives. Analyze results of marketing campaigns and develop recommendations based upon campaign results.


•    Manage marketing project teams, ensuring marketing and communication programs adhere to schedule and meet business objectives.


•    Partners in regional / corporate level initiatives to support  Consumer Lending related projects, service excellence, employee commitment, strategy planning and operational efficiency.

 

Nature & Scope:

The position is responsible for providing Consumer Lending  with effective marketing and communication programs to enable businesses to meet objectives and reinforcing the bank’s brand identity.

 

Managerial/ Supervisory Responsibility:

1 FT staff presently

 

Minimum Qualifications Required:


•    Bachelor's Degree, or in lieu of a degree a minimum of 4 years work experience


•    A minimum of 7 years’ experience in managing marketing campaigns in a client or agency environment, or in marketing, portfolio management, product development and/or product risk.


•    In lieu of degree, 12 years’ experience in managing marketing campaigns in a client or agency environment or in marketing, portfolio management, product development and/or product risk.


•    A minimum five years project management/supervisory experience.

•    Excellent project and time management skills


•    Strong interpersonal /communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of management.


•    Consultative and analytical ability to understand needs and recommend appropriate actions.


•    Excellent PC skills with proficiency in software programs utilized by department.


•    Excellent written, verbal and negotiation communication skills.


•    Sound creative judgment with advertising/direct marketing production knowledge.


•    Copy writing and editing proficiency.


•    Working knowledge of applicable banking laws.
