Title: Marketing Manager II, Commercial Payment Solutions
Location: Buffalo, NY
FUNCTION:
Marketing Manager II manages team(s) responsible for marketing, communications, and Sales Enablement activities (including RFP’s) for the Commercial Bank.  He or she serves as the primary Commercial Bank liaison with the Marketing and Communications Division, collaborating on the conceptualization, development, execution and evaluation of highly visible and critical marketing and communication programs designed to meet business objectives of the Commercial Bank while reinforcing the Bank’s brand identity.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Understand day-to-day life of sales organization, including stages of the sales cycle, buyer personas, and the tools sales reps use on a daily basis.
  • Work with Commercial Bank partners to understand marketing and communication needs based upon business objectives and strategies to execute.
  • Continue to establish and build out Commercial Bank “Sales Enablement” function.
  • Work together with Marketing and Communications Division to develop marketing plans for Commercial, TM, Card and Merchant.
  • Coordinate and fulfill communications requests, marketing requests, and Insider/SAVO updates for Commercial Bank.
  • Partner with the Commercial Awareness & Development team in building out playbooks to support the Strategic Selling initiative.
  • Advise on and coordinate communication strategies for the Commercial Bank.
  • Coordinate internal Commercial Bank communications (e.g. memos, Commercial Banking Exchange, Group Manager Forum, etc.).
  • Manage SAVO application for administration and distribution of Commercial content.
  • Ensure, in conjunction with content owners, that content in SAVO is properly maintained for accuracy and compliance.
  • Exercise managerial authority over staff with respect to hiring, termination, staffing, performance appraisals, and salary recommendations.
  • Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The position is responsible for providing the Commercial Bank with effective marketing, communication, and Sales Enablement programs and support to enable businesses to meet objectives and reinforcing the Bank’s brand identity.
MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Manage individual contributors and/or managers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years experience in managing marketing campaigns in a client or agency environment, or in marketing, portfolio management, product development and/or product risk.
  • In lieu of degree, 12 years experience in managing marketing campaigns in a client or agency environment or in marketing, portfolio management, product development and/or product risk.  Minimum five years project management/supervisory experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with all levels of management.
  • Excellent project and time management skills.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
  • Excellent PC skills with proficiency in software programs utilized by department.
  • Ability to sift through large amounts of data/information and narrow down to the most important trends.
  • Copy writing and editing proficiency.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively based on the activities that will receive the greatest return.
  • Sound creative judgment.
  • Excellent written, verbal and negotiation communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of applicable banking laws.
