Basic Function: Provides assistance to the FHA (Federal Housing Administration) Underwriting group with the preparation of the loan applications and closing for mortgage loans within M&T Realty Capital Corporation (M&T RCC).
 
Responsibilities: Schedule and perform property inspections to assess the physical condition of the properties in the portfolio, complete and submit the inspection report to the appropriate investor, participants and relationship managers, communicate with the borrower regarding any deficiencies or issues discovered during the inspection, and formalize and implement a plan to address these deficiencies or issues with the borrower. Oversee and coordinate property inspections with third party inspectors in accordance with investor guidelines, including the development and maintenance of master inspection list for loan portfolio. Work with investors to resolve inspection issues in connection with the loan portfolio. Request, review and analyze operating statements, rent rolls and other documentation relating to the financial condition of the property and follow up with borrowers regarding any questions on information provided. Prepare and submit the financial analysis to the appropriate investor, or relationship manager.Process draw requests and/or letter of credit requests, including review and analysis of the request for replacement and or completion repair draws from the appropriate escrow accounts analyze and process requests for construction loan draws; coordinate funding and reimbursements with the appropriate internal departments and external investors participants. Work with borrowers to develop appropriate funding schedules for major property renovations undertaken during loan term. Monitor loan payments, tax payments and review insurance coverage and premium payments, including communication with the Borrower on erroneous or late payments; monitor all real estate tax payments for timely processing; review and analyze insurance policies for appropriate coverage amounts and adherence to investor guidelines; and monitor timely payment of insurance premiums. Review commitment letters and underwriting files, complete escrow analyses, prepare closing statements, coordinate with closing attorney, borrower and investors or participants, represent the bank at loan closings. Plan, complete and assure the timely committing and delivery of loans to investors and or participants and coordinate, prepare and submit post closing follow-up to the appropriate investor and/or participants.
 
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in work experience in multifamily commercial real estate industry. Six to eight years of previous asset management or commercial construction to include, closing, post closing, loan administration or underwriting experience. Experience in construction loan administration and or loan workouts preferred. Experience with a wide variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, loan information systems and internet applications.
