Function:  Manages the daily departmental workflow of assigned Securities Operations unit (usually 5 – 10 employees), which may include exempt staff.  Exercises supervisory authority over staff.
Position Responsibilities:  Supervise and coordinate daily activities within Securities Operations unit to meet departmental objectives.  Functions supervised include but are not limited to: monitoring department work queues related to paperwork and quality control, daily reporting and approvals, as well as management reporting to identify trends and resolve discovered issues. 
Provide technical, functional and operational expertise in department work policies and procedures. Provide leadership, guidance and feedback to staff, as well as training, ensure the implementation of department goals through assigned staff.
Provide input and ideas to management focused on efficiencies within department and reducing risk for responsible functions. May facilitate process innovation and/or special projects assigned by manager.
Responsible for performing tasks in a manner that are compliant with applicable laws and regulations and/or that serve to help the company be in compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the business line the position supports.
Standard Company Responsibilities:  Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Additional Information:  Provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced personnel.
Minimum Qualifications Required:  Bachelors' Degree or in lieu of degree four years' combination of higher education and work experience
Minimum 3 years work experience including 2 years relevant experience
Ability to obtain FINRA Series 7 within 6 months
Ability to obtain FINRA Series 24 within 12 months
Demonstrated prior work leadership.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
Reliable and strong work ethic and ability to work within and across teams
Highly flexible and ability to multi-task
Preferred Qualifications:  FINRA Series 99, 7, & 24
Ability to interact with all levels of personnel, lead cross-training activities and work under pressure
Individual should be able to work well with all levels of management and escalate issues when needed.
Must be able to multi-task with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently
Industry or operations experience
