Job Description

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Performs a variety of routine accounting clerical duties following established methods and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to receive and audit disbursement requests and/or employee Travel & Expense Reports via the Smart-Spend automated workflow module. Review these same requests for accuracy as it relates to general ledger account numbers, cost center numbers, sales tax, duplication, business purpose, dollar amount, payees, etc.  Assist in the performance of month-end close analysis as it relates to prior month expenses and variances to both plan and previous month expenses. Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers regarding status of payments and numerous other related functions. Receive and reply to day to day research requests from these same customers. Accomplish imaging and/or filing of documents per established filing plan and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess an Associate degree in Business/Accounting or equivalent in work experience: one to two years accounting experience and excellent organizational skills. Accounts Payable computerized accounting experience is a plus. Highly attentive to detail and customer oriented to deal with both internal employees and external vendors. Ability to multi-task and interact with all levels of management in a professional manner.  Excellent computer skills and the ability to operate a variety of office equipment including calculator, copier and fax machine.  Strong verbal and written communication skills.
