Job Description

Title: Organizational Change Management, CLM Program Learning Lead
Location: Buffalo preferred; will consider other locations within the &T Bank footprint
Basic Function:
This position will be responsible for developing, leading, and sustaining the learning activities for Commercial Bank change initiatives, starting with the Credit Lifecycle Management (CLM) Program, which includes changes to roles and responsibilities and the implementation of M&T Bank’s future Loan Origination System (LOS), nCino and future enhancements of the nCino platform.
Essential Position Responsibilities:
Credit Lifecycle Management (CLM) Tasks:
  • Provide instrumental input and guidance to drive the strategy, design, and development of training objectives, documentation, and delivery methods to support all CLM Program initiatives.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the CLM Program to include its scope, dependencies, risks, implementation strategies, and impacted audiences as it pertains to the implementation of the nCino loan origination system (LOS) and non-nCino technologies that will integrate into nCino.
  • Collaborate with various internal Program teams and attend Program meetings to gather critical change data to identify and scope the degree of change between current state and future state. Leverage data to perform a variety of assessments to include stakeholder assessment, change impact analyses, and change readiness. Update assessments as necessary throughout Program duration.
  • Analyze and evaluate the change across the organization to identify role-based people and process training requirements needed to inform and reinforce nCino LOS training. Recommend strategies and actions to integrate training needs derived from degree of change analysis to create a cohesive training experience for end-users to ensure we successfully prepare them for CLM changes.
  • Work collaboratively with legacy M&T system subject matter experts (SMEs) impacted by the CLM Program to develop an auxiliary technology training strategy. Oversee and/or deliver content to train end-users on the changes of these M&T systems.
  • Work collaboratively and provide organizational guidance to external consultants tasked with the design and development of curricula and courses for the new Loan Operating System (LOS), nCino.
  • Lead the effort to identify and secure training locations, evaluate and hire trainers, conduct train-the-trainer sessions, and ensure successful Learning Management System (LMS) load and readiness.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of impacted and informed LOS end users.
Organizational Change Management Tasks:
  • Apply structured change management methodologies and tools to develop and deliver learning strategies to support adoption and value realization of large-scale, complex change initiatives affecting three or more business lines or functional areas.
  • Focus on the people side of change, including changes to processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. Drive faster employee adoption and long-term change sustainability increasing benefit realization and ROI.
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to include Learning & Development, Corporate Travel, Procurement and vendor partners to effectively manage training deployment.
  • Build and maintain a variety of mutually beneficial stakeholder relationships at varying levels of organizational stature and program leadership to advance change management effectiveness and capability with a focus on subject matter experts (SMEs).
Management & Administrative Tasks
  • Prudently manage training tactics and make recommendations to ensure Program is deployed within budget and timeline.
  • Facilitate meetings and publish meeting minutes. Present status updates to management during Program meetings as required. Escalate issues and track resolution as needed.
  • Coordinate cross-functional tasks and projects with other change management professionals who are not direct reports.
  • Partner with other groups instrumental in leading change as well as preferred change management consulting vendors.
  • Serve as internal Change Management expert. Provide change leadership coaching as appropriate.
  • Provide organizational change management coaching, mentoring and learning opportunities for change management practitioners as well as project and program managers. Develop and maintain a change management community of practice.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. May support the development of training for business line personnel regarding procedures and controls designed to ensure compliance with laws and/or regulations.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Perform other assignments/projects as requested by management.
Nature and Scope:
The position requires substantial interaction with internal contacts at middle and senior management level, as well as external contacts/vendors in order to obtain pertinent information and execute on learning strategies. The position acts as liaison between department and other bank personnel.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, organizational development or training and development.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in a learning & development, change management, or project management role.
  • Proven experience with learning and development principles to include needs analysis, curricula development, instructional design, and learning deployment to include adult learning principles and classroom facilitation.
  • Proven exceptional verbal and written communication skills, instruction and collaboration skills, particularly in negotiating, influencing and gaining consensus.
  • Experience in clearly communicating complex concepts in a simple manner to employees at varying levels throughout an organization.
  • Strong history of communicating verbally and in writing with senior management on status of initiatives.
Ideal Qualifications Preferred:
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three year’s banking industry experience preferred with understanding of various lending roles and responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to quickly adapt to new projects and stakeholders and work independently when the subject matter is unfamiliar. Able to work in a fast-paced, agile work environment.
  • Evidence of leading large-scale, high-impact initiatives in large organizations, particularly financial institutions. Project management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated history of working under tight deadlines and with multiple cross-functional groups to deliver quality materials for presentation on time for large-scale change projects.
  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
