M&T Insurance Agency is headquartered in Buffalo, NY, where the company was founded in 1955. The agency maintains six offices throughout the Northeastern United States and the Mid-Atlantic.
Market and negotiate quotation terms on new and renewal accounts with Carriers. These programs include Large Deductible, Retros, Self Insurance and other Alternatve Risk Programs.
  • Review and analyze insurance programs (coverage, limits, deductibles, retentions, classifications, et al) for new and renewal business submissions; recommend improvements to strengthen insurance coverage.
  • Analyzes, evaluates and reviews insurable exposures, loss information, experience modification data and insurance industry trends, as applicable.
  • Communicate and build rapport with insurance company underwriters and brokers to obtain insurance quotes and negotiate pricing, terms and conditions.
  • Prepare new and renewal business proposals and other presentation documents to assist sales efforts of agency producers 
  • Collaborate with agency producers and service team to ensure marketing expectations are being met, agency procedures are followed and marketing activities are adequately documented in agency management system.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, OR in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years’ higher education and relevant work experience.
  • Very good communication skills
  • 5 or more years Property and Casualty experience
