Job Description

Responsible for various functions related to the pricing of retail deposit products, management of the retail deposit portfolio, and analytics to better assess the drivers of retail deposit balance flows and yields.

Recommend changes to product pricing based on analysis of market trends, competitors, price elasticity curves, and other relevant factors.  Analyze changes in retail deposit balance flows and explanation of underlying drivers.

Work effectively with partners in Marketing, Finance, Treasury, and other areas to ensure that product balances and pricing satisfy bank and stakeholder objectives. 
Maintain an awareness of pricing, balance, and retail strategy trends across the industry, especially with direct peers and competitors.
Articulate results, analysis, and insights to business line and bank leadership on a regular basis.  Presentations to the bank’s Deposit Pricing Committee and Asset Liability Management Committee (ALCO) may be required periodically.
Demonstrate the ability to influence others and bring key stakeholders to consensus in order to guide the strategy of the Retail Bank.
Demonstrate thought leadership in key areas such as forecasting enhancements, price/rate tests, and competitive positioning of products and rates.  Develop ideas and articulate how they can be tested and made actionable.
May exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ proven marketing, product management, financial, operations and/or project management experience, or in lieu of a degree a combined minimum of 9 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years’ proven marketing, product management, financial, operations and/or project management experience.
Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated financial analysis skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Proven leadership experience.
Master’s degree.
Knowledge of software programs utilized by department.
