Basic Function

Incumbent is responsible for managing various servicing-related and/or asset management-related functions and activities that M&T Realty Capital Corporation (“M&TRCC”) must perform in connection with the multifamily mortgage loans that M&TRCC originates and services for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD and GNMA. In addition, incumbent may be responsible for managing other M&TRCC staff who perform some or all of the functions and activities for which incumbent has oversight responsibility. Incumbent’s functional oversight responsibilities will vary, depending on whether the incumbent oversees staff in the the Servicing area of M&TRCC and/or the Asset Management area of M&TRCC.

Essential Position Responsibilities

Manage the performance of various loan servicing or asset management functions, ensuring that all such functions are carried out in compliance with applicable Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD and/or GNMA requirements.

Supervise and otherwise manage the activities of all assigned staff members. Exercise the usual managerial authority with respect to staffing, hiring, termination, training, salary recommendations and performance management. Provide effective leadership, guidance and other assistance to ensure that the needs of staff members are met, staff members are engaged, and all applicable performance goals are met.

Maintain in-depth knowledge of the multifamily product lines, policies, and procedures of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD and/or GNMA, as well as any other external requirements that might have an impact on the closing/delivery, servicing and/or asset management activities of M&TRCC. Ensure that such information is shared with staff members.

Develop, implement, and update (as needed) internal policies and procedures with respect to the closing/delivery,servicing, or asset management functions and activities for which incumbent has oversight responsibility.

Ensure that such policies and procedures are consistent with all applicable Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD and/or GNMA requirements, and that they promote the efficiency of M&TRCC’s operations, foster sound operational risk management, and enhance the quality of M&TRCC’s customer service.

Review and approve borrower-customer funding requests (e.g., replacement reserve draws,

completion/repair draws, or construction loan draws) that have been processed by staff members.

Review and approve post-closing statements, escrow disbursements, investor information and loan fundings that have been prepared or processed by staff members.

Oversee the periodic assessment of the physical condition and financial performance of the properties that secure the loans in M&TRCC’s servicing portfolio.

Supervisory Responsibility

Incumbent typically manages a staff of from two to eight people.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 7 years of closing, loan administration, servicing, asset management, and/or underwriting experience relating to multifamily/commercial real estate loan transactions. A minimum of 2 years managerial experience.
