Risk Manager I Wilmington Trust Wilmington, DE   Basic Function: Provide support for multiple Wealth and Institutional Services Division business unit initiatives; collaborate with business units, First and Second Line Risk and Compliance and other stakeholders to implement business goals consistent with M&T Bank risk parameters. Support key WISD risk governance committees and processes.   Responsibilities: Provide support in developing business solutions and guidance on matters concerning compliance/regulatory, operational, fiduciary and other areas of risk for Wealth and Institutional Services Division business lines.  Subject matter areas include intercompany agreements/Regulation W, BSA/AML, securities issues, conflicts of interest, privacy, fiduciary issues, Volcker Rule.  Provide support for divisional and business line governance committees.  Issue resolution and escalation as appropriate. Provide direction and leadership within cross-functional teams. Strong leadership characteristics. Ability to serve as a change agent. Adapts quickly to new challenges. Detail oriented and self-motivated. Able to assert ideas, encourage teamwork, and act as a role model when leading and directing others. Ability to motivate and influence staff outside of direct reporting line.   Basic Qualifications: Master’s degree, or in lieu of degree six years in a risk/business position with an additional six years’ risk management, finance, legal or related experience.  Understanding of business structures and contract principles.  Familiarity with financial institution legal framework.  Excellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills using creativity and innovation.  Ability to formulate complex problem solving approaches to business challenges.  Expertise with Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and other PC applications.  Excellent verbal and written communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.  Ability to develop and articulate ideas and develop alternative recommendations.  Ability to make effective presentations.  Develop and maintain solid working relationships with business partners.   Preferred Qualifications: JD degree considered favorably.    This position will be posted internally & externally on all of the customary job board to which M&T subscribes.  Special consideration will be given to workforce reduction employees who meet the basic qualifications, followed by internal employees, veteran candidates, MDP's/EA's, executive referrals, employee referrals and external candidates.  All qualified candidates will be considered until a sufficient pool of talent is established.
