Job Description

Responsible for providing complex, non-routine analytical, technical and operational support at the business or department level. May act as project leader on less complex but highly visible projects.
The position is responsible for support in a variety of functions to include but not limited to the following:
Create and distribute various management reports on a daily, monthly, quarterly and annual basis; manage and respond to ad-hoc requests for reporting in a timely manner.
Assist with the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly performance data and reporting to plan sponsors and financial advisers, with comparisons to benchmark performance.
Assist with the preparation and review of quarterly fact sheet data for the fund’s investment strategy and objective, the investment process utilized, historical investment performance, fund composition and fees, as well as other relevant data. 
Assist with coordination and preparation of metrics for models that include growth on investment, annualized and calendar year performance, and the return and risk associated with each model.
Special projects, as requested.
Research and gather business and financial information regarding business results. Perform ad-hoc analyses to support business decisions. Provide feedback to management regarding results. Make recommendations on findings to management.
Develop a thorough understanding of the business and its functions, processes and operations. Keep abreast of business and market trends which may affect business department.
Participate in the planning and implementation of new projects, products, programs, and plans to achieve short and long-term business objectives; assist in developing project plans.
Act as project leader in the execution of various projects for the promotion and maintenance of the business.
May be involved, to some extent, in some or all of the following: (i) setting policy or developing and overseeing the implementation of procedures or controls related to compliance requirements within the overall business processes; (ii) directly or indirectly monitoring functions that, on a day-to-day basis, ensure that the procedures and controls are functioning as designed (e.g., reviewing and resolving exception reports or ensuring that exception reporting is occurring and/or providing reporting and trending of data for management), (iii) developing training of business line personnel regarding procedures and controls designed to ensure compliance with laws and/or regulations, (iv) performing or overseeing embedded compliance self-testing, or (v) managing examinations or audits involving regulatory matters and any resultant corrective actions.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
The position requires substantial interaction with both internal and external contacts in order to obtain pertinent information.
The position may act as liaison between department and other business units on various projects.
The incumbent works independently under very limited supervision as well as a member or a project leader of a project team.
Provides guidance to junior analysts.

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year’s project or support experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 year’s project or support experience.
Proven analytical skills.
Proven time management skills.
Minimum of 3 years’ prior departmental or banking industry experience.

Collective Fund and/or Mutual Fund Administration or other Financial Services experience. 
Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent word processing, spreadsheet and email software.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team.

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to function in a dynamic, tight deadline environment
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and can work independently as well as in a team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills combined with strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications,  specifically Access, Excel and PowerPoint. Organization and time management skills
