Job Description

Senior Private Client Investment Advisor Wilmington Trust Century City, CA Basic Function:
Provides comprehensive investment management services to meet the needs of the more complex Wealth Advisory Services clients often as a member of a dedicated relationship team.  Recommend investment solutions via a needs-based, consultative approach, and proactively manage the client relationship including guiding sensititive and/or difficult client situations to a mutually satisfactory resolution. 
The Opportunity: ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT Develop Individual Policy Statement (IPS) with and for client including annual review/updates.
Handle Portfolio needs including recommendation letters for advisory and co-trustee accounts, AO coordination or best fit recommendations, and investment performance reviews.
Conduct and/or participate in investment performance and relationship reviews. 
Manages assigned book of accounts including agency, fiduciary and institutional portfolios.
Implements Wilmington Trust's investment methodology in all assigned portfolios.
Implements strategic and tactical investment recommendations in a timely manner.
Trades all types of securities proficiently.
Follows all appropriate policies and procedures.
NEW BUSINESS FOR PROSPECTS Provide expert support, including proposals and presentations, for new business opportunities with prospects.
Work effectively across entire Philadelphia and S. NJ region encompassing 6 offices.
Focus on origination and retention through active public speaking engagements to support Wilmington Trust Brand and prospect development efforts.
Identify and develop additional opportunities with existing clients.
CLIENT SERVICE & RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT Educates clients on emerging issues, regulatory and tax changes, and advises clients on appropriate actions.
Coordinate with dedicated relationship team maintaining appropriate levels of client service.  Engages other team members/specialists to deliver other wealth services as needed.   Document client contact and interaction as specified. 
Creates value and earns client confidence by providing objective guidance often in highly complex situations/relationships.
Present M&T/Wilmington Trust Investment Group as the financial organization of choice to prospective partners and clients requiring Wealth Advisory services in the community.
Engages with citizens, leaders and organizations in the community/region(s).
COMPLIANCE/RISK MANAGEMENT Manages book of accounts consistent with all applicable laws, regulations and standards.
Adheres to all  policies and procedures.
Completes all compliance requirements including annual account reviews.
Follow and comply with all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Complete annual Reg 9 account reviews, minimize exceptions, and manage corrective action plans. 
INTERACTION WITH INTERNAL PARTNERS Maintains a thorough working knowledge of various bank resources to facilitate client service delivery and expand client relationships.
Meet with internal partners, pre and post call planning.  Acts as an expert  resource to partners in the sales process. 
Strengthen internal bank partnerships--commercial lenders, business banking, retail, etc.  Notification of at-risk clients.
Obtain professional designations such as CFA, CFP, CIMA, CAIA. 
Pursue appropriate continuing education and training.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Understand changes in the industry e.g., federal and state specific and expert knowledge of various government regulations.
Works effectively within a team environment, and reacts to change in a positive and productive manner.
Strong planning and organizational abilities, including the ability to manage highly complex tasks and anticipate and set priorities.  Conduct effective, meaningful meetings.
Maintain positive working relationships.
Maintain highest levels of integrity and professionalism. 
Participate actively in WT/WAS projects and initiatives and group meetings and calls.
Ability to communicate internally with bank management and executives and externally with clients, and their representatives. 
Basic Qualifications Required: Bachelors' degree, or in lieu of degree  10 years professional relevant work experience, with a minimum of  7 years investment experience.
Proven  ability working with high net worth clients and complex client relationships
Possess comprehensive industry and  investment knowledge.
Fluent public speaking ability and excellent client facing commuication style in 1-on-1 meetings.
Possess a specialized/unique skill set that can be leveraged in the sales process or when meeting with particular clients i.e. designation, license, advanced training and/or certification.
Proficient personal computer skills with solid knowledge of Microsoft Office. 
Participant in relevant training and self-improvement seminars and courses, and other related  training applicable to job and  industry.
Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment, and react to change in a positive and productive manner.
Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and ability to listen and understand, fostering open and effective communication.
Ability to conduct meaningful meetings are a must; must be an outstanding communicator.
Strong planning and organizational abilities, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and anticipate and set priorities.

Ability to take ownership.
Willingness to travel which may include overnight travel.
Ideal Qualifications Preferred: CFA desired or equivalent professional experience
Masters degree preferred.
