Job Description

Plays a key role in improving business processes through data and process analysis to improve efficiency, decrease costs, reduce errors and improve service. Assesses current processes through data and statistical analysis and process evaluation and documentation.

Participate in process re-engineering efforts to improve efficiency, decrease costs and improve service, under the direction of Senior Process Managers.
Analyze Bank processes through process tools such as current state assessments, process mapping and statistical analysis.
Compile and analyze key metrics and measures to identify process improvement opportunities. Use statistical analysis to identify root cause and provide detailed problem analysis.
Prepare project plans to provide a framework for the project as well as regular updates and status reports.
May manage small scale Process Re-engineering efforts.
Develop Key Process Indicators and Measurement systems to enable continued process evaluation and control.
Develop business case and project benefits.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.

Develops and delivers process metrics and analysis to support large-scale process excellence programs.
Supports change through approved transformational programs.

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years’ proven process improvement and/or operational experience, OR in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years’ higher education and work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ proven process improvement and/or operational experience.
Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent software packages.
Knowledge of process improvement methodology and business process management techniques.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Curious and innovative.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work individually as well as a member of a team.
Self-motivated, results-driven and well-organized individual.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under time constraints in support of various assignments.
Ability to function professionally at many different levels (clients, management, and peers).
Solid understanding of statistics and interpretation of statistical data.

Master’s degree.
Previous process improvement project team member.
Six Sigma Green Belt.
LEAN certified.
Highly analytical, strong Excel skills; ability to use query tools.
