Senior Wealth Investment Advisor Associate -  Park Avenue - NYC


Under the supervision of Investment Advisor(s), provides comprehensive investment management services to implement WTC investment policy to meet the needs of clients. Supports WAS and WTIM's integrated delivery of products and services consistent with the financial goals of clients and IST recommendations exercising a high level of competency. Career progression from this position would be to an Investment Advisor I position.



Under the guidance of Investment Advisor(s), documents client investment objectives, sets policy, and determines asset allocation strategy for clients.

Implements investment objectives for limited book of relationships with the supervision of an Investment Advisor.

Provides necessary support and information to clients, Private Client Advisors and Trust Advisors as well as others for all WTIM investment products.

Serves as a support associate to assigned Investment Advisor(s) and assists in setting asset allocation strategy for clients, and developing and implementing investment objectives for the Investment Advisor's assigned book of relationships.

Direct external client contact; internal contact at all levels.

Meets with clients on a regular basis as determined by the relationship team to review investment policy, asset allocation strategy, and performance.

Prepares and delivers client investment reviews, participates in the sales effort.

Actively monitors client's financial situation and proactively engages clients in considering changes to their financial strategies.

May be responsible for transitioning client accounts to alternative investments with our affiliates.

Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.

Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Complete other related duties as assigned.







Effectively delegates tasks and projects as needed.



Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years’ investment management experience with client contact, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 8 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 4 years’ investment management experience with client contact.

Minimum successful completion of Level 1 CFA. Series 65

Demonstrates a strong level of proficiency in the use of personal computers and software packages, especially Microsoft Office.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.

Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.

Strong mathematical skills, ability to apply concepts of algebra and statistics, ability to use software programs and financial calculator.

Strong critical thinking skills, ability to synthesize data to determine correct policy and strategy and implement such strategy in the most efficient manner possible.

Ability to build a strong level of trust with clients; empathy and real interest in working with people; self-confident and a proven ability to work well with highly capable and successful individuals; ability to work effectively in a team environment.



Bachelor’s degree in Finance. MBA or CFA.
