Solution Architect – Integration & Middleware Technologies

Lead and contribute to the design , development and maintenance of a complex

domain/solution architecture that supports the most efficient, reliable, scalable, and secure solutions to meet the business needs and technology strategy; this includes planning, evaluating, recommending and designing the solutions to ensure that technology projects are cost effective, compliant with enterprise policies, and corporate technology standards and do not diverge from

business and technology strategies. Can direct and monitor the activities of cross functional staff to support the delivery of Enterprise Architecture services.

Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical systems-related enterprise-wide initiatives, complex discretionary projects, compliance/regulatory requirements, and system changes due to contractual agreements or system maintenance and as knowledge resource and mentor for less experienced staff. Represents the Bank at vendor executive Advisory Boards, user conferences and Industry Events; presents regularly at similar events to share information with management, vendors and peer banks.


Functional role for this position is mentioned below:

-Building integration-centric offerings and provide the solution for technical challenges as we transition from traditional integration platforms to service oriented architectures.

-Building process-centric offerings and solution by introducing a business process focused IT infrastructure. Solution architect defines business processes and design them for development of custom application technology solutions.

- Building enterprise wide multi-channel client middleware/Integration architecture for reusability across multiple Front End application



Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current

state), and determine corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the LOB or Domain's targeted business outcomes.

Design and lead the implementation of a solutions architecture for identified LOBs, Domain, or Projects based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities and business requirements.


Design Technical/Integration Architectures, including development, runtime and operations architectures.

Define solutions using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) patterns, automating business process models and Microservices based patterns.

Define integration patterns for cloud hosted solutions (SaaS based integrations).

Define the SOA Governance processes. 

Define and delivering integrated solutions by applying proven delivery methodologies including

Agile and Model-Driven techniques.

Design message- and event-driven architectures.

Contribute to developed roadmaps and reference architecture patterns

Provide consulting support to application architects within projects to ensure the project is aligned

with the overall enterprise architecture.

Understand cybersecurity principles. Identify and address impacts to ensure Solutions Architecture designs comply with SDLC best practices.

Understand Corporate Technology Standards and ensure solutions fully comply. Recommended exceptions where appropriate.



Bachelor degree & 10 years of technical experience.

Minimum of 3 years of experience to design integration pattern in banking domain.

Design and developed solutions architecture in following domains

Enterprise Service Bus ( TIBCO BW , IBM Websphere , Oracle Weblogic.

PI Management ( CA API Gateway , IBM Datapower ) using Rest based integration patterns.

Message Queues ( IBM MQs)

Business Process Management ( IBM) .

Data Integration Pattern ( Informatica Real Time Services Integration )

SaaS based integration patterns for cloud & Hybrid integration

Application Servers ( IBM WAS , Oracle Weblogic , Redhat )

Design high available and Clustered infrastructure.

Experience on large system enhancements, conversions.

Experience on large system enhancements, conversions and production problem resolution.

Familiarity with application development support software and hardware platforms.

Ability to effectively use project management, word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Excellent problem solving skills to assist in issue resolution.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present to the target audience.

Excellent analytical, organization, project, and time management skills; strong judgment and management skills; understands the agendas and perspectives of others.

Must be able to assert ideas and gain support and commitment from others.

Experience and skill in managing across functional and organizational lines.



TOGAF Certified Enterprise Architect

Complete understanding of the system development life cycle and the Bank’s enterprise architecture

Understanding of multiple business area’s functions

Good understanding of the Bank’s application framework

Ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staff personnel

Knows how to work within the organization

Encourages teamwork and acts as a role model when leading and directing others

Must be proactive

Self-motivated and able to motivate others

Ability to handle multiple tasks

Aware of the Bank’s business plan and strategic objectives with the ability to shape direction
