Title: Sr. Commercial Service Support Associate - Canadian Banking

Basic Function:

The Canadian Banking Specialist will be based in Buffalo, NY. The incumbent is to become a process expert and internal resource for the Canadian Branch. Provide customer support by servicing the needs of existing and prospective customers, exclusively in Canada, ensuring the smooth delivery of superior customer service.

Essential Position Responsibilities:

Become a process and procedural expert on Canadian Operations. Assist the sales force with the opening documentation of credit and non-credit (DDA) products and treasury management services through our white label program with RBC. In addition, be the lead on the support and servicing of these accounts.

May perform any or all of the following duties:

• Act in a facilitating capacity between the customer and the TM Sales Rep or Relationship Manager, responding to questions and resolving problems.

• Interact on an as needed basis with operational areas of the bank in order to review, research, and correct operational/accounting customer problems.

• Facilitate the opening of new RBC accounts. 

• Handle and process all account maintenance.

• Help complete and process loan documentation on newly approved and closed loans.

• Disburse proceeds according to instructions.

• Keep abreast of product lines, internal policies and procedures, and external regulations that may impact assigned area.

• Perform other duties and assignments as requested by management.

Specialized Responsibilities:

• Be the go to resource for TM Sales Reps and RM across the footprint for any questions on process or procedure for account opening or loan closing documentation.

• Working with RBC Client Services, review and obtain approval for overdrafts and un-postable items up to established limit. Research and resolve overdraft with customer.

• Attention to regulatory adherence in the account opening process (KYC, ATF/AML protocol, OSFI guidelines).

• Attention to OSFI and Bank of Canada Regulatory Reporting needs and compliance.

• Assist with Credit Inquiries on behalf of the Canadian customers.

• Maintain Canada Box (Outlook email box for all Canadian inquires).

• Responsible for being scribe and filing all meeting minutes following meetings around Canadian/RBC operations.

• Facilitate the training of Canadian specialist back-up representatives.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

• Associate’s degree and a minimum of 2 year customer service experience in Banking Operations, Retail or Credit; in lieu of a degree a combined minimum of 4 years higher education and/or work experience including 2 year customer service experience in Banking Operations, Retail or Credit
