Title: Sr. Equipment Finance Representative

Location:

BASIC FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for providing the bank’s customers and prospects with Equipment Financing Solutions, through the utilization of Tax, Non-Tax and Tax Exempt financing products in the New England region.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acting in the role of a resident solution partner or in the capacity of a business development manager for transactional opportunities, identify, process and close equipment financing opportunities that meet the bank’s credit and profitability guidelines.
Provide training to the commercial bank’s Relationship Managers on the value of Commercial Equipment Financing solutions to the bank and its clients.
Participate regionally in the formal relationship planning process.
Actively participate in all regional staff and community banking meetings.
Continue to follow equipment and market trends and update self on changes in accounting rules and trends.
Actively participate in civic and community activities with an emphasis on volunteerism and board participation.
Coach/mentor new Leasing Sales Representatives.
Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Working closely with regional relationship managers, team leaders and market presidents as well as M&T Credit groups and officers, identify equipment financing opportunities that meet the bank’s standards and provide the guidance necessary to close and book these transactions.
In addition, this position is responsible for the continued oversight of these transactions and will assist in servicing these accounts as needed by the line and the client.
MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
May coach/mentor new Leasing Sales Representatives or act in a player-coach team leader role.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 7 years’ industry experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined 11 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years’ industry experience.
Knowledge of the principles of equipment financing structure, credit analysis and tax law.
Strong computer skills coupled with the ability to utilize and analyze financial models.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel using diplomacy.
Excellent presentation skills.
Financial analysis and knowledge of credit principals.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
In market experience and COI’s
Applied knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.
General knowledge of banking and M&T’s various commercial fee based products.
