M&T Insurance Agency is headquartered in Buffalo, NY, where the company was founded in 1955. The agency maintains six offices throughout the Northeastern United States and the Mid-Atlantic.

 

Function:
Oversee the claims process, creates workflows and processes. Addresses client needs, including complaints and appeals.
Responsibilities:
Ensure timeliness of work processing, including adjudication of claims, refunds and overpayments.
Develop and implement claims processes and procedures to meet client needs.
Review all claims to process and resolves issues.
Act as a point of escalation for difficult, complex claims.
Assist in training of Agency staff regarding claim process.
Lead innovation and implementation of work flow and automation procedures.
Establish audit and monitoring procedures to ensure adequate review of processed claims.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree and 2 years’ claims experience, or in lieu of degree, a combined minimum of 4 years’ higher education and or work experience including a minimum of 2 years’ claims experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Applied Systems
Working knowledge of commercial lines insurance products and marketing
State Brokers License and minimum 3 or more years’ experience in the Property and Casualty
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other various computer models
