Job Description

The Opportunity:

Supervises the daily departmental workflow of assigned unit (usually 5-10 employees). Exercises supervisory authority over staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

Supervises and coordinates daily workflow to meet departmental objectives.

Provides leadership, guidance, and feedback to staff, as well as training when necessary.

Work with Loan Workout to make sound decisions related to home secured loans

Review Short Sales, Deed in Lieu and settlements on Home Equity loans

Work with Resolution Specialists to determine next steps on delinquent taxes
Attend mediations when asked by counsel to represent the bank

Work with Consumer Foreclosure to review possible Foreclosures or Charge offs

Responsible for monitoring large balance accounts up to $4,000,000 and providing updates to Management

Working with Private Banking monthly to provide updates on delinquency related to Private Banking customers

Communicates and enforces operational and procedural changes to stay in compliance with Bank policy and/or government regulations.

Exercise the authority as a supervisor concerning scheduling, salary recommendations, candidate interviews/hiring, corrective action/termination, performance appraisals, and promotions.

May participate in or facilitate process innovation and/or special projects assigned by manager.

Responsible for performing tasks in a manner that are compliant with applicable laws and regulations and / or that serve to help the company be in compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the business line the position supports.

Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.

Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Complete other related duties as assigned.

Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.

Responsible for meeting and maintaining registration requirements under the Federal SAFE Act.

Nature and Scope:

The incumbent is responsible for the supervision of an assigned unit, usually 5-10 employees, primarily non-exempt.

The incumbent must use independent judgment and discretion in the day-to-day management of assigned unit.

The incumbent is responsible for monitoring strict state regulations related to Home Secured loans

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years experience in department or comparable area or in lieu of a degree a combined minimum of 6 years higher education and/or work experience including 2 years’ experience in a department or comparable area.

1 year leadership experience.

General knowledge of relevant utilized spreadsheet, word-processing, presentation, and departmental software.

Ideal Qualifications Preferred:

In-depth knowledge of documents, procedures, measures, and terminology of the assigned department.

Demonstrated work leadership ability.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
