Systems Manager II Wilmington, DE   OPPORTUNITY: M&T is searching for a Wealth and Institutional Services technology leader who will manage the core Accounting Statements Technology across the Wilmington Trust division. If you are someone who enjoys leading large and challenging technology delivery programs and has deep expertise in the Wealth and Trust related technology, this may be a fit.  
This position will report to a Wealth and Trust Technology Delivery Manager and will lead critical programs and run that will have a major impact on Wilmington Trust line of business at M&T.  
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Consult with client management in the analysis of short and long-range business systems-related requirements of a larger and/or more complex nature and recommend innovations that anticipate future impact of changing business requirements.  
Build positive client relationship to support the delivery of these activities. Monitor the technology direction of the industry and vendor applications specific to areas and businesses supported.  
Manage supporting research and initiation of change to the status quo, when necessary to ensure implementation of appropriate technologies. Manage vendor/product analyses and recommendations to ensure delivery of the most appropriate product based on available resources, inclusive of budget.  
Develop and maintain contacts within the organization to obtain the requisite support related to systems development activities managed. Maintain relationships with vendors and professional organizations to remain current on industry trends and best practices for supported systems and businesses.  
Direct systems development activities of assigned teams, including assignment of staff to various projects and ensure their timely completion within budget. Coordinate activities with other managers as required to support efforts of mutual interest. Manage the implementation of technology consistent with Division’s standards and long-range plans.  
Ensure activities managed adhere to all Department and Technology standards and procedures, including all documentation requirements to protect Bank interests and serve as a reference source. May translate requirements to assist assigned staff in preparing detailed specifications for system enhancements to ensure their understanding.  
Manage and ensure the recommendation of systems designs based on business requirements and technology requirements. Manage the identification of issues and concerns throughout the process and ensure they are investigated and resolved. Monitor project plans of assigned team to ensure they remain on track; identify and address significant issues that may result in delays.  
Manage the completion of project status reports for presentation to management to ensure their awareness of significant issues. Remain current of activities outside assigned teams that may impact activities of the teams or systems managed.  
Recommend and implement new policies and procedures that improve department performance and effectiveness. Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.  
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.  
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Manage a cross functional IT Delivery Team. Deliver an Account Statements program

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years’ systems development experience, or in lieu of a degree a combined minimum of 14 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 10 years’ systems development experience.
Minimum of 3 years’ managerial or leadership experience.
Experience with large system enhancements, conversions and production problem resolution.
Complete understanding of the system development life cycle. Familiarity with application development support software and hardware platforms.
Strong knowledge of pertinent project management, word processing and spreadsheet software.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent presentation, interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong project management skills.
Ability to assert ideas and gain support and commitment from others.
Experience managing across functional and organizational lines.
Ability to understand technical, business and operational impacts of a project or problem.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
Strong understanding of the business environment and needs of supported internal clients.
Understanding of the Bank’s enterprise architecture, application framework and businesses supported.
Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Aware of the Bank’s business plan and strategic objectives with the ability to shape direction.
