Position Overview:
Manage candidate development for mid to senior level exclusive searches, supporting the Commercial Bank division. Develop relationships with key industry players in person and via telephone to generate qualified candidates for multiple search assignments. Manage the candidate lifecycle including identifying, qualifying, interviewing and managing targeted candidates to rapidly produce a best-in-class slate of talent to meet / exceed M&T’s internal client expectations.
Essential Position Responsibilities: Serve as a subject matter expert in the area of talent attraction.
Actively work with line managers to develop the strategy to build talent pipelines, interview, qualify and recommend top candidates to the business line.
Mentor others within the department on unconventional search techniques.
Proactively attract a quality work force and maintain applicant flow in filling current and future staffing needs.
Counsel line managers recommended compensation packages.
Negotiate, extend offers and effectively close the candidate.
Adhere to government regulations, organizational policies, and system/data integrity.
Build effective relationships with HR Business Partners, line management and employees.
Routinely provide insights into the competition for talent.
Attend job fairs and/or open houses.
Participate in committees and special projects as required.
Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and three years' recruitment experience or equivalent in related business experience. In lieu of degree, seven years recruitment experience or equivalent in related business experience required.
Experience working for Human Resources within a corporate environment.
Demonstrated recruitment success in acquiring niche talent.
Demonstrated experience and the ability to apply proven and unconventional sourcing and recruiting techniques.
Strong sales ability, persuasion and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and engagements simultaneously.
Superior consultative skills and ability to influence decisions.
Proactive characteristics and proven ability to remain diligent on searches.
Expertise and proven experience with identifying passive job seekers.
Demonstrated ability in cold calling, name generation and networking.
Sound experience showing fast response time, consistency and success.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
Strong decision making ability.
Ability to function in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ideal Qualifications Preferred: Recruiting experience in Banking and/or Financial Services industry preferred.
Experience supporting the Commercial Bank division is a plus.
Demonstrated success working in a high-end contingent or retained search agency preferred.
Experience with Human Resources applicant tracking systems (Taleo, Workday, etc.) preferred.
