Technology Team Lead - Business Architecture

Buffalo, NY


As an Enterprise Architecture Governance Process Analyst, you work with IT leaders and stakeholders across the organization to keep Architecture Review Board and other EA governance activities aligned with over all IT governance and project governance at M&T.

  • Assist with development, implementation and continuous improvement of the M&T Enterprise Architecture Library and EA repository, Including Business Capability Mapping, Application Lifecycle Management, Corporate Technology Standards, and SDLC Design Patterns. 

  • Ongoing process review, improvements, execution, analysis & adoption of new governance processes.

  • Contribute to the development of SDLC procedures, including Secure Application Development, and Continuous Integration (DevOps) principles.

  • Oversight and strong awareness of technology inventory collection monitor the ongoing maintenance of technology standards and coordinate the application and technology owners.

  • Develop improvements to the dissemination and communication of the growing library of Enterprise Architecture content to the Technology and Business stakeholders that benefit from this content.

  • Participate and support management activities (include production of meeting minutes) for the Enterprise Architecture Peer Group, Enterprise Architecture Board and other committees.


Associates’ degree and a minimum of 6 years’ operational/business analytics experience including a minimum of 2 years’ proven supervision or leadership experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 8 years’ higher education and/or work experience, with a minimum of 6 years’ operational/business analytics experience including a minimum of 2 years’ proven supervision or leadership experience.

Key skills:

  • Strong knowledge of SDLC principles, including Secure Application Development and DevOps

  • Current state process flow analysis, development of future state processes

  • Strong communication skills

  • Excellent organization and documentation skills

  • Prior experience in an EA Governance organization preferred

Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent software packages. Capable of working on multiple projects of a complex nature.

Ability to effectively use project management, word processing and spreadsheet applications. Excellent problem-solving skills to assist in issue resolution.

Familiar with application development software and hardware platforms. Ability to understand business(es) supported and its’ terminology.

Prior experience in an EA Governance organization

Experience with skills, application(s) and functions of the technology area being led. Subject matter expert in business with knowledge or experience utilizing application/system being supported.

Mastered understanding of applications supported with an advanced knowledge of interfacing/integrated applications.

Proven mentoring and leadership capabilities from a project management perspective. Good understanding of the Bank’s application framework.

Ability to understand business(es) being supported and its’ terminology.

Aware of the Bank’s business plan and strategic objectives with the ability to shape direction. Mastered knowledge and focus of the entire system to work on projects outside of normal BAU. Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
