BASIC FUNCTION: Provides technological and data support, including software support, report development, data manipulation and analysis for interest rate and liquidity risk management, balance sheet and capital planning and analysis for senior management. Will participate on key projects within the department to support the bank’s Treasury functions   POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain Structured Query Language (SQL) and Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) extract, transform and loading processes established to aggregate various data sources across the Bank used in analysis and modeling for interest rate and liquidity risk management, balance sheet and capital planning. Complete quality assurance on data feeds, rectifying inconsistent or erroneous data to ensure the accuracy of data used in these analyses; investigate and respond to ad-hoc data analysis questions.  Create new data feeds based on account level bank data to fill in gaps in account level balance sheet data; link and interface data with the QRM Risk Framework to build monthly balance sheet position used for risk modeling and forecasting. Maintain the chart of accounts, product hierarchy, planning trees, indexes and global dimensions of the master QRM Risk Framework environment through proper change management for use by multiple risk practice groups.  Provide QRM application and server support and error resolution for the Treasury Business Analysts; work with the vendor to exchange information on the Bank’s practices and learn and implement industry best practices. Document and maintain data process procedures to serve as reference; adhere to established controls to ensure data quality.  Assist in the audit process by maintaining and providing complete and precise documentation and controls evidence.  Assist Enterprise Data in implementing and maintaining a Treasury datamart by defining business and functional requirements to provide Treasury a detailed balance sheet to replace current data sources. Use appropriate analytical software to develop custom balance sheet and risk analytic reports to support understanding of QRM Framework environment or Asset-Liability, Liquidity, or capital planning teams. Provide financial analysis and data support to other groups/departments across the Bank as needed. Conduct business in compliance with regulatory guidance including SR (Supervision and Regulation Letters) 10-1, SR 10-6, SR 11-7, Enhanced Prudential Standards, etc.  Adhere to applicable compliance/operational/model risk controls and other second line of defense and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures. Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Complete other related duties as assigned.   NATURE AND SCOPE: The Asset-Liability Management Group’s primary responsibility is to manage the interest rate and liquidity risk of M&T Bank Corporation’s balance sheet.  The analysis created is used by the Bank’s management to support strategic business decisions. Through this process the group develops strategies to manage the composition of the Bank’s investment portfolio.  This role is highly technical in nature and requires demonstrated attention to detail, execution, and follow-up on multiple initiatives within the Treasury Division and across the Bank. The ability to identify, analyze, rationalize and communicate complex business, data problems, and recommend corresponding solutions is a key factor of success in this role. It is important for the position to communicate with clear narratives, compelling data visualization, and technical precision, whether verbally or in-writing.   MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Not applicable   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree with coursework and proven proficiency in Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Management Information Systems or related subject area, or in lieu of a degree a combined minimum of 4 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including coursework and proven proficiency in Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Management Information Systems or related subject area.    IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Design and use of Tableau Analysis/Reporting tool Proven ability to manage and analyze large data sets, with careful attention to detail.         Strong interpersonal skills, with an equally strong desire to learn Advanced computer skills and strong knowledge of pertinent word processing, spreadsheet and database software. 2 years’ prior experience in banking or financial services industry. Minimum of 1 year’s proven Asset/Liability experience, with knowledge of QRM Risk Framework. Minimum 1 years’ programming experience using SQL. Minimum 1 years’ experience designing automated processes to move, format, standardize and scrub large amounts of data. Minimum 1 years’ experience building databases for the purpose of data standardization, data archiving and reporting. Experience creating, maintaining and managing SQL Server Integration (SSIS) packages.
