Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for providing support to the Treasury Management Consultants and Regional Sales Managers for bankwide Treasury Management and Card sales. In this role, the Client Administrator will assist the assigned team with call preparation, pricing, implementation and sales related service requests. This is a customer contact role – the administrator will communicate directly with customers to assist in the sales process and will attend customer calls as appropriate. The administrator will be expected to have a strong understanding of Treasury Management products and M & T Treasury Management systems and processes.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create pricing models for existing relationships and include any pricing adjustments at the line item level based on feedback from the Treasury Management Consultant and/or Relationship Manager. Treasury Management Consultants are responsible for review and ensuring information is accurate.
Assist Treasury Management Consultants with pre-call research for large client opportunities.
Develop proposals, preparing/printing marketing materials and preparing post-sale call follow-up documentation
Identify sales leads based on client interactions and requests which come in via the client, Relationship Manager, Commercial Service Team, etc. Work with the client directly to understand interest in new service and provide them with agreements.
Cross sell when appropriate
Attend sales calls and meetings with Treasury Management Consultants and Relationship Managers to gain knowledge around sales process and insight into client relationships
Partner with Sales Consultants and Sales Manager to understand all products, how to position services to clients, gain knowledge of how to partner with Relationship Managers and Operational partners and how to interface in highly effective ways with the client/prospect so that Client Administrators may become bench strength for open Sales Consultant positions
Provide continuity during periods of TMC turnover without stressing the remaining sales team.
Ongoing Follow Up
Act as the primary point of contact for regional customer in instances where overall profitability is high but potential for new sales may be limited
Assist with annual relationship reviews: printing analysis statements, review for billing/pricing errors or any other inconsistences, create a visual account structure for client review and provide a detailed listing of current services and associated user permissions the client has in place
Conduct check in calls with newly on boarded clients at various intervals to help ensure the customer had an exceptional onboarding experience with M&T; periodic check ins with current customers after significant service issues have come up to demonstrate our commitment to their relationship
Respond to client/Relationship Manager inquiries while Treasury Management Consultants our out of the office.
Implementation and Service Related
Follow up on outstanding Treasury Management agreements with the appropriate customer contact
Shepherd any complex service matter through to the proper channels and provide updates to client, Relationship Manager and Treasury Management Consultant about timeline and next steps
Coordinate operational activities associated with on-boarding a new customer including customer training. Ensure customer implementation is not delayed and if delays occur, update Sales Consultant an Relationship Manager (as appropriate) immediately so they may help step in with client if needed.
Assist with non-standard pricing document completion for large customers (exceptions of >$20,000 annually) and verify following month that exception pricing was captured on the Analysis Statement.
Coordinate all client-facing setup questionnaires
Participate in Premier Onboarding Setup calls to ensure large conversions/complex service additions are going smoothly for client and internal partners
Submit simple/transactional client requests on behalf of sales to Implementation. (Examples include but not limited to updating a system administrator, deleting TM services, etc.)
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position reports to the Treasury Management Regional Sales Manager and is responsible for providing support at the direction and discretion of the manager. This is a regional position but will support multiple Treasury Management sales consultants throughout the assigned region. Associate will not carry a specific sales goal, but their activities will be oriented towards increasing Treasury Management sales volume.
MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
None
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of relevant work experience or in lieu of a degree a combined minimum of 7 years higher education and/or work experience to include a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.
Proficiency with typical office productivity software (e.g. Microsoft Office)
Demonstrated aptitude for analysis and resolution of problems.
Ability to successfully navigate in a team environment.
Strong time management skills a must.
Ability to travel when necessary throughout their assigned region.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
BS/BA in Business, Finance, or related field of study.
