BASIC FUNCTION: This position is responsible for providing operational support to the WISD division of M&T Bank/Wilmington Trust and its clients as they relate to Physical Security Processing.  These operational functions include but are not limited to: filing, examining securities and authorizations.    The processes involved includes examines securities deposited for safekeeping, verifies descriptions and signatures, and files securities according to account number.   Individuals must be able to lifting over- head, bending, twisting and moving boxes up to 40lbs. Knowledge of how various securities are processed including equities, fixed income, corporate and municipal bonds.  Record securities transactions including free receipts, free deliveries and internal movement of securities.  Release securities from vault upon authorized request.  Acts as agent for bank by observing bank auditors and auditing securities in vault. Lead in organizing the annual vault audit and ensuring timely resolutions of exceptions and reporting on status. Responsible for answering inquires and resolve complex processing.  During times vacation or unexpected absences process tasks on open desks. Perform self-vaults of vault logs and pulling examples for quarterly samples of processed transactions.   POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
•        Provide subject matter expertise around the processing of securities movement and physical vault transactions.
•        Assisting with monitoring and delegating daily work assignments.
•        Leadership role in conducting the annual physical audit, exception resolution and reporting responsibilities.
•        During peak times and vacation times assisting with covering desks within the Wilmington Trust Vault.
•        Performing monthly self-audit and reporting results.
•        Participating in projects as assigned.
•        Research and bring to resolution for Wilmington Vault issues raised to Trust & Investment Services by internal clients, external vendors or counter-parties.
•        Partner with internal clients in the development of operational processes and procedures in support of Wilmington Vault.
•        Develop a thorough understanding of the physical security functions and related industry regulations. Keep abreast of business and market trends which may impact processing.
•        Complete necessary metric reporting, and trend analysis in support and identification of operational operating efficiencies and risk mitigation efforts.
•        Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
•        Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
•        Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
•        Complete other related duties as assigned.
•        Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time) responsible for processing and verification of work from assigned area.  Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact. May have direct interaction with committees and/or Senior Managers. Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other more junior level employees. May manage daily operational activities and supervise day-to-day work of junior level employees (but not a formal management role).  Technically sound in area of expertise and has broader knowledge of other areas within Trust. Monitor and process complex issues.  Will have an understanding of Wilmington Lines of Defense, Trust Company and Fiduciary regulation risks, SSAE18 controls and testing programs.   BASIC QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
•         Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year trust operations experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 years’ Trust operations experience
•         Thorough knowledge of personal computers and various software programs utilized by the department
•         Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•         Knowledge of trust regulations and securities-related regulations
•         Proven analytical skills
•         Proven organizational skills
•         Ability to independently research and resolve problems   IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
•         Experience operating as part of cross-functional teams
